Down in Lower Scheol there is a series of islands floating in the air and linked by a series of portals, these jagged and disintegrating islands are home to a series of Greek themed brink monsters and bosses. The terrain makes for some hair raising encounters and there is nowehere to run (at least not if you want to get back there quickly!) so taking on these bosses isn't something to take lightly. First up though lets take a look at the lay of the land: So how do you get there? There are actually two ways to reach the islands, you can start at the north or start at the south its up to you, although we recommend starting out in the south as the southern bosses are easier to handle. Getting to the Southern Area In Lower scheol head east from the portal area (that comes from upper Scheol) and keep to the top section of the cliff, eventually you will come to the end of the path in an area of Croakers of the Night (and some croaker bosses) look to your north east and you will find a path winding out over the void, follow that out past another two areas of croakers and you will come to another slender path that leads to a pulsing portal nest Once you go through this portal be warned that there is no going back the way you came, the portal is one way and drops you off at point A on the map above. You can then follow another precarious path to your east to reach Naxos the first boss...but more on the bosses in a little, first lets talk about the north entry. Using the Northern Entrance To find it you need to head a little to the west of where you enter the caves from the Upper Scheol portal - jump down onto the lower level and head through the passage way to the west, a little ways along you will see a passage that leads north a short distance, head down there and you will see the blue rods - jump down to the base of these rods and you should find the teleporter as shown below that leads up to Pyramids above Lower Scheol, its a glowing half sphere on the ground to your left, you don't need it right now, but its a good indicator you are in the right place. Turn to your right and you will see a narrow path leading out over the void to a blue portal. Take that portal and you will be underneath Scheol, head south being very careful not to fall (and we do mean very carefully, walking is often better then running here) - this will lead to another portal that leads you out to the northern most portal shown on the map above, close to the boss mob Poros The Bosses Now we are down the business end of a trip to these Greek Islands. There aren't that many ordinary mobs here to get in the way but there are a few. On the first main southern Island you will find Island Hecklers, in the middle island, Island Demons and on the northern island you will find Island Horrors. These mobs are around level 175 and shouldn't present much of a problem at all if you are thinking of taking on the bosses in the first place! Right, now onto the bosses themselves. You will need a good doc or a good tank with high HPs to take these out as they do hit hard, average hits will range from 800 to over 2,000 for a critical hit. Being bring beasts they do hit relatively slowly though. Still, you won't want to be facing these bosses unprepared, but a 205+ tank profession could probably solo them if properly prepared and buffed.
So what do they drop? Going to all that effort you'll be wanting to know why you should bother? Well the Greek bosses drop a variety of items that may or may not be helpful to you on your travels. First and foremost for most is the pattern drops. The bosses drop the patterns for four different QL205 pocket bosses.
The defiler and devourer in particular drop some nice symbiants for infantry and Artillery types These bosses also drop the spirit tech apparatus needed to make perennium weapons, and they drop the higher level versions needed to make QL200 weapons, so if you can't get to Inferno yet to hunt the Mortiigs there these bosses are a great alternative, the drop rate isn't brilliant though so be prepared to take them all down a good few times to find the apparatuses. The bosses also drop the usual slew of Shadowlands boss junk, crystals, gems and monster parts, but being brink mobs they also drop weapons like the Murder Maul and the Bow of Belith Conclusion So there you have it, everything you need to know to take on these Greek named bosses. |
