It seems the scientists of JAME have managed to develop a series of armors that are unique to the Shadowlands. So what do you need to do to get in on it? You need to seek out your professional IPS representative at your nearest IPS store. Head into the hall and speak to the relevant IPS vendor In order to get the pants, sleeves, gloves and boots from the IPS rep they will require one each of the Insignias of Enel and Shere and what they call a 'donation' of a cool million credits for each piece of these basic parts that you want to get your hands on. For the more advanced parts - namely the helmet, life-support (back), shoulder pads and chest piece, the profession NPC has a slightly higher price! They will ask for one each of the Insignias of Enel, Shere, Ocra and Roch as well as the small matter of another 'donation' - this time of 2 million credits - for each piece of armor you require. Not exactly the cheapest pieces of kit you'll ever acquire if you're an aspiring traveler making your way in the new world. However given that (as we will go through in a bit) the armor can be upgraded all the way to the highest levels it's probably worth the investment in the long run. To gather insignias grab yourself a backpack (you'll be collecting a lot of them for the set, let alone other quests that require these tokens) and head out into the wilds to find the insignias required. You can find the Enel and Shere Insignias in Elysium so should be achievable once you can safely hunt in Elysium, the Ocra and Roch insignias come from Scheol, so if you are thinking about soloing these parts you'd probably best be over level 130 at the very least, otherwise you'd best bring friends! The Elysium ones aren't all that hard to come by and drop off a variety of mobs, the Silvertails in central Elysium especially seem to have a fairly decent drop rate, and as a bonus can drop either insignia. The Roch and Ocra Insignias in Scheol are another matter entirely and only seem to drop off the Redeemed and Unredeemed mobs at any decent rate. This presents a slight problem in that as the mob will drop an insignia opposite to its faction (i.e. unredeemed mobs will drop you redeemed insignias (Ocra) etc) so how do you get the insignias of the opposite faction without harming your faction standing with your own side? Well, you have four choices: Firstly, ruin your faction with your own side - probably not the most advisable course of action but could work out in the long run anyway. If you choose to do this make sure you kill the mobs on your own side first then you can recover your faction whilst getting the opposing faction later on. Secondly you could see if you could tag along behind some other players who are killing your faction mobs for other reasons (like those looking for specialization drops) and ask nicely if you could loot any insignias they don't need. Thirdly you can take your chances and kill lots and lots of unfactioned mobs - they do drop insignias - but at very slow rates, and can drop either one so its not an exact science. The 'acro' mobs, rafters and geits are examples of unsided mobs. Lastly, although this doesn't appear to be in game yet - the IPS rep will mention that some of the redeemed and unredeemed mobs offer 'bounty hunter' missions or quests - but I haven't been able to find any evidence of these quests myself as yet, neither have I seen any forum reports of these. If you are lucky, you will find those on mobs that were killed by other players, who did not need the insignias. Collect enough of them and you can head to Jobe IPS building and have the Jobe suit made for you. Just open the IPS dialogue again and tell them that you have the parts required - they will open a trade window for the parts and if successful they will then ask which piece you want. That's not the end of the story though, as mentioned earlier these armors can be upgraded! How? Well, read on....here |
