Name Buffing for Combat Guide
Faction All
Approximate Level N/A
Author Kanatach
Main This is a short informational guide on what buffs to get from what professions in combat. There is a multitude of buffs available, and the number only grows as you level. Often I team with people outside my clan that never asks for other profs buffs. But putting the right stuff into your NCU can turn you into a high-tuned damage-dealer. What follows is what buffs I usually ask for from different professions, and the buffs you should ALWAYS get if said profession is in your team

So, without further ado, here is:

Kanatach's Guide to buffing for combat!

Enforcers: Essence (adds hp), Focused Anger (+72 all inits), Shield (Reflect and more hp, some adds a little AC too.), skill buffs for 2hb/1hb (Brutal Thug and Headcracker, BT is the best one), and layers-nanos (absorb shields).

Martial Artists: Mark of xx (crit buff), Reduced Inertia (evades), AC-buffs

Adventurer: AC buff, morphing buffs (Adds to damage, evades and a lot of other skills depending on what you are morphed to, and they look cool )

Engineer: AC buffs (Engis have the best AC buffs of all), reflect shields.

Doctors: HP buffs, Heal-over-Time nanos (very useful if you have the NCU-space to spare for it)

Nano-Technicians: Humidity Extractors and Crunchcom lines are excellent, but NCU-intensive. They also have a nice evades-buff called Dark Movement. Layers-line of nanos is also good (absorb shields)

Traders: Wrangles, of course, evades-buff. (I am not very familiar with trader buffs, so someone might want to elaborate on this subject.)

Fixers: NCU-buffs! Runbuffs are good, and adds to evades too. (Again, someone more intimately familiar with fixer-buffs might want to elaborate.)

Bureaucrats: Baton-lines (Adds to xp and whatnot), sympathetic speeches (adds to damage and alot of other stuff) Again, a profession that I need more info on.

Soldiers: Skill-buffs for diverse ranged weapon skills, reflect shields (soldiers have the best ones in game), Offensive Steamroller (init buff, but pretty high lvl)

Meta-Physicists: Nano-skill buffs (Teachings, Masteries, Infuses and Mochams gifts nanos), Anticipation of Retaliation (evades buff), also has a nano-cost reducing line of nanos which is good.

Agents: Take The Shot (Adds to aimed shot and gives a crit-increase), any buff of any other profession they have acquired. Agents are amongst the best buffers to have in a team, since they can do False Profession and cast other profs buffs. VERY useful.

In no way an exhaustive list of buffs, these are just the buffs I usually ask for. With NCU-space at a premium you want to put the right stuff into what space you have. I may have missed some important nanos, I lay no claim to knowing all buffs in the world...

Some buffs, like essence lasts a long time, essence lasts upwards of one hour and the best one lasts a full two hours. Easy to get before going on missions and lasts long enough to complete even a medium size team-mission.

So, know your buffs! Know what buffs benefit you the most and what buffs to get in what kinds of team-setups.

Correct and smart buffing can be incredibly beneficial to a team, and can turn a team into a whirlwind of destruction unleashed....

Rock on!
