When fighting the alien hordes you may encounter the rather nasty alien generals. These guys pack a mighty punch but they also have a very nasty debuff ability called Daring Syndrome that they can inflict on your NCU. It lasts for five hours, stays on death, and reduces your evades by 5%, not something you really want to be suffering from on an ongoing basis

Help is at hand though, Herbalist Gerard can put together a cure for the syndrome if you find him the right parts.

Herbalist Gerard can be found in the Rhinoman village in Newland Desert (the same one which higher level players will be familiar with from hunting a certain professor Van Horn). The location is a little north east of Stolts Outpost and Whompa station. He also plays a part in the social clothing quests so you might be familiar with him.

This time out though you need him to try and find the cure to the Daring Syndrome. He will tell you he can help if he could grab a sample of the alien toxin.

The item you need is called Unidentifed Toxin and drops randomly from any alien mob (note it's a NoDrop item). Once you have the toxin head back to the Herbalist and he will analyize it for you. It turns out though he needs another part, he now wants you to find some Restorative Herbs.

These herbs can be looted from regular Rhinoman mobs, which is handy since there are lots of them all around the Herbalist.

Hunt some Rhinomen and find yourself some herbs and head back to the herbalist. He will then tell you he can make the antidote if you give him the herbs and 40,000 credits. Stump up the cash and the herbs and you will be rewarded with a five use stim of Daring Antidote.

This stim can then be used to counteract the effects of the Syndrome.
