These nice rings can be made from alien boss loot and will be of particular interest to nano orientated professions looking for a few extra points in those precious nano skills. The three rings on offer are (stats at QL300, bonuses scale down to QL1 in the database):

• Dark Biotech Rod Ring: HP +100, PM +15, TS +15, MC +10, xp 4%, INT +8
• Glowing Biotech Rod Ring: HP +100, PM +15, SI +15, MC +10, xp 4%, INT +8
• Pulsing Biotech Rod Ring: HP +100, MM +15, BM +15, MC +10, xp 4%, INT +8

Making the rings

To make the rings you need to find one of three items from aline boss loot: a Dark, Glowing or Pulsing Biotech Rod. Each one makes the ring of the same name. To begin with you will need to make the ring casing just like you do with regular rings:

• Small Gold Ingot + Personal Furnace = Liquid Gold
• Liquid Gold + Wire Drawing Machine = Gold Filigree Wire
• Gold Filigree Wire + Generic Ring Template = Gold Filigree Ring

This will leave you with the gold filigree ring (NOTE: this process only seems to work with gold rings, not silver, bronze or platinum) and you just need to add the Biotech rod to the ring, this will require six times the quality level of the rod in Mechanical Enginering and Electrical Enginering to complete. The QL of the gold must be within 20% of the Quality Level of the Rod

Conclusion

The drop rate on the rods isn't great, but if you do get your hands on them these rings are great items for nano reliant professions, have a nice intelligence bonus and even an xp modifier so overall these rings are not to be sniffed at in any way. They do require the alien technology perk line to be trained though which is a consideration if you are tight on alien perk points.
