Uncle Bazzit holds the key to activating some of the more advanced Alien Technology. In order to use certain items you will need the Alien Tchnology Perk level three, and to learn that perk you need to have Bazzit's alien Library...so how do you get it? Lets take a look! Before we start a word of warning. This is a long quest, so be prepared before you start, there is a point in this first section that you can take a break early on, but unless you are particularly speedy (like a Fixer or another profession with warps) then expect this to take a good few hours to complete. The guide makes it clear when you can take a break otherwsie you have to press on given the timings of the missions and will have to start over from the start if you fail past those points. Stage Two - The Smokers Lounge and the Alien Library So when we finished part one of the quest Deidre Lux had her new pistols and had offered to help further by introducing us to the mysterious Smokers Club. That requires a series of tests. So let's get on with it shall we? Before she lets us begin she asks if we have a code breaking tool of some kind. Show her the Hacking Tool available from any general store and you’re good to go. Note that the next part is time sensitive.
Shortest conversation path: I’ve tuned the pistol for you.
1600, 650 - Mort Crater, Mort Locate a Cyborg Lieutenant Colonel and tag it using your Hacker Tool. You do this by left-clicking to pick it up(your pointer turns into the Hacker Tool icon) and right-clicking it over the Cyborg. Once you’ve done this you get an update for the next target.
You can locate a Cyborg Brigadier General easily by looking around the Mort Crater area some more. Tag it the same way as you did with the Cyborg Lieutenant Colonel and receive a mission update.
The Prototype Inferno is located at the Cyborg Barracks static dungeon at 3230, 2340 in Cyborg Encampment, Greater Tir County. More information about the Cyborg Barracks itself can be found in another guide. Once you tag the third and last Cyborg return to Deidre.
Find and inform her that the first test has been completed. She will ask for the Hacker Tool and give you a Linked Hacker Tool in return. Shortest conversation path:
*Break Alert* You can stop here and continue this quest at a later time if you want. Just talk to her when you are ready to begin the next leg of the quest.
Shortest conversation path:
You'll recieve a mission:
Note: This is just like a regular find item ‘mission’. Where the mission is located at is randomly determined each time. If the mission is located in the middle of nowhere, you can safely delete the mission and talk to Deidre about the second test again to see if you can get a better location. Once you retrived the card you receive a mission update.
Return to Deidre with the Vanguard Node 19 Access Card and Linked Hacker Tool. She hacks the DNA locked access card for you and returns it. Now we are ready for the final test. Shortest conversation path:
*Break Alert* You can stop here and continue this quest at a later time if you want. Just talk to her when you are ready to begin the next leg of the quest. Our last and final assignment is an advanced account hack. Basically delete everything in the Vanguard database related to the client. When the hack is completed we need to require a printout based on the keyword ‘Bazzit’ and return it to Deidre. Short conversation path:
You'll get a mission:
Note: Just like the second test, the mission location is randomly determined each time. If the mission is located in the middle of nowhere, you can safely delete the mission and talk to Deidre about the final test to see if you can get a better location. Fun note: I happened to receive the mission in the middle of Omni-HQ that is populated with nothing but Neutrals and Medusas. What the Vanguard is doing in Omni-HQ with their ‘secure’ facility full of Neutrals and Medusas are anyone’s guess. What we are looking for is a ‘monster’ named Vanguard Node 19. When we find it we need to ‘talk’ with it. We need to tell the node to Run…, Link Node 2.3 with Node 20. It will ask for authentication so we give it the Hacked Vanguard Node 19 Access Card and we’re in! Shortest conversation path:
Now we look under Accounts. It will ask for a name, try Deidre Lux and we find out that she has over 7.8 billion credits making her richer than most entire organizations. Interesting huh? Ok, back to the job at hand, finding Uncle Bazzie we want to purge his account so we confirm Yes. Now we go back to check on the Accounts… and Print… a list of the accounts as proof. If the hack has been successful the node will terminate after the printout is finished and we receive a mission update.
Return to Deidre with the logs to complete the final test and receive the Hacker Club Affiliate Card! Now that we’re finally in the club, we like to know more about the device that Uncle Bazzit gave us. She doesn’t know what the device is, but she can ask a friend of hers and send him a holographic image of the device. After consulting with Ofoz she finds out that the files with information on the Unknown Device is under heavy encryption and that the elite Omni-Tek military is involved. They find out that the device is a tool of some kind. Ok, so how do we use it? Deidre shows us how to use the scanner and now we can report back to Uncle Bazzit with our findings. Shortest conversation path:
You will recieve a mission:
We return to Uncle Bazzit and tell him about what we’ve found out about the Kyr’Ozch Structural Analyzer(Unknown Device). He congratulates us on the job well done. When asked if he knew anything about the Omni-Tek department involved he has his suspicions but suggests that we go contact Ofoz and maybe dig up some hard evidence. Short conversation path:
You will recieve a mission:
*Break Alert* You can stop here and continue this quest at a later time if you want. The three day limit on the quest gives you time for a bit of a break!
Ofoz can be found hiding at 685, 580 in Borealis north of the whompas behind a weapons store. Show him our hard earned Hacker Club Affiliate Card and it seems that he had been expecting us.
Asking if he can provide more information regarding the structural analyzer Ofoz wants to take a look at it. The examination reinforces Ofoz’s theory that the structural analyzer was Kyr’Ozch (alien) technology modified to fit Omni-Tek’s purposes. To get more information, he needs our help to hack into a node belonging to Omni-Tek administration. Being hack savvy from our last job for Bazzit we agree to help. Ofoz gives us a Remote Access Hacker Tool to plant on the Omni-Tek administration node so he can hack it remotely. Once he is finished and the node self destructs we need to hurry back with the logs so Ofoz can analyze it.
Note: Do not delete this mission! Even though the mission location is randomly determined; if the mission is located in the middle of nowhere, you are probably stuck with it. This is because unlike Deidre, Ofoz doesn’t seem interested in giving us another chance. If you delete this mission you will not be able to receive another and will have to redo everything up to this point again. Once you locate the Omni-Tek node use the Remote Access Hacker Tool that Ofoz gave you to complete the mission. You will receive the Omni-Tek Node Logs and a mission update.
Once we get back with the logs and let Ofoz decrypt and look them over. He finds some inconsistencies with the dates so we ask him what is wrong with them. It turns out that the ‘operation’ was started when the first Shadowlands portal was opened. Ofoz then goes on to say that only one department had the ability to cover up something as monumental as first contact with an alien race…the Unicorns. It turns out that the Unicorns are the meanest and toughest soldiers in this part of the galaxy and that we wouldn’t want to mess with them. Asking for more information, Ofoz told us to look up the only person who has hacked Unicorn nodes and lived. Being thoroughly spooked by the Unicorns, Ofoz backed out of helping us. Since Ofoz no longer wants to help us it seems that we’d have to seek out Sirocco ourselves. Before we leave he reminds us to send any good fixers that we know his way. After pulling that trust building stunt? I don’t think so. With nothing left of interest with the cowardly Ofoz, we forge ahead alone.
Now on to Sirocco To find Sirocco, we need to travel to Old Athens once more. We can find him hiding out at 210,215 in Old Athen West, Old Athen in the southwest corner of the city. Offering to show him the Hacker Club Affiliate Card, he pretends to not know what we’re talking about but decides to have a look anyway. Okay, makes sense. After handing the card back he seemed more cooperative. Playing along, pretend to be on his side by saying that ‘The truth must be found and spread to the people!’ and then flattering him by saying ‘But the Smokers Lounge care and are organized!’ Finally getting through to the coward hiding in the corner of a city we let him have a look at our Kyr’Ozch Structural Analyzer. It turns out that Sirocco has heard only rumors about an crazy doctor called Dr. Krank an employee of Omni-Med as being linked to this device somehow. Because he got too close to something someone had silenced him by turning him into a raving lunatic looking for pink elephants in the desert in an effort to silence him. As Sirocco hacks further into the Omni-Admin node from where the cowardly Ofoz left off and finds that the Unicorns had been preparing for an alien invasion for some time. There was an autopsy done of the Kyr’Ozch aliens revealing that they were weak jelly-like beings. There were further tests done on the living ones on which chemicals they can inject into the aliens to cause them to mutate. Last thing Sirocco found was a ranking system for the Kyr’Ozch aliens based on their intended purpose like ‘Assult Force Commando’, ‘Assult Force Specialist’ and so forth with a special designation for the Channelers. Those have the ability to maintain a telepathic link ‘spanning entire galaxies.’ Looking further, there were logs about a crash site. Sirocco gives us two names Dr. Zibell and Dr. Krank that are connected with this and the previously mentioned autopsies. With this new insight we need to tell Uncle Bazzit about our findings before making our next move. Sirocco tells bids us farewell and to be careful. Short conversation path:
You will recieve a Mission:
There we have it! The Alien Library you need to train the Alien Perk Level three Short conversation path:
The quest doesn't end there though there is another part that you can go on. Curious, we ask Bazzit how he got the device that started it all in the first place. Strangely enough, he said that he bought it from Omni-Trans. We ask if he thinks that Commander Kend Ash might know more. Bazzit thinks so and we’re off to try and uncover more answers. You will get another mission
*Break Alert* You can stop here and continue this quest at a later time if you want. The three day limit on the quest gives you time for a bit of a break! Since we already have the Alien Library carrying on with Part Three of this quest is optional as the reward is only useful for certain levels and profession. Check out the stats on the Overclocked Belt Component Platform to see if you really want to continue for the sake of the reward. You can of course finish the quest to find out the end of the story!
