Uncle Bazzit holds the key to activating some of the more advanced Alien Technology. In order to use certain items you will need the Alien Tchnology Perk level three, and to learn that perk you need to have Bazzit's alien Library...so how do you get it? Lets take a look!

Before we start a word of warning. This is a long quest, so be prepared before you start, there is a point in this first section that you can take a break early on, but unless you are particularly speedy (like a Fixer or another profession with warps) then expect this to take a good few hours to complete. The guide makes it clear when you can take a break otherwsie you have to press on given the timings of the missions and will have to start over from the start if you fail past those points.

Stage One - Bazzit, Lux and the broken pistols

This first stage should take a maximum of two hours, but can be done inside half an hour with a speedy character who knows where they are going. Over to Kithrak for a walkthrough of the Omni version of this section: (The quest is essentially the same for Clan or Omni, just with the characters reversed, so where this guide speaks of Kend Ash and Ramon Bauer their roles are reversed for the clan version)

You can find Uncle Bazzit inside Uncle Bazzit’s Workship at 1550, 2720 in Meetmedere, Newland Desert.

Have a chat with Uncle Bazzit and he will share his ‘opinions’ of Omni-Tek with you. Eventually he will tell you that he performs custom-built upgrades for weapons for special customers only. Asking if he can upgrade your weapon he says that he can’t. It appears that he is busy trying find more information on a device that he is working on.

Be a good samaritian and offer to help him by suggesting that - ‘Perhaps it can be used in restructuring nano stun gloves?’

This catches Bazzit’s interest and you get a chance to show off your weapon hardware knowledge. Or, if you find that techno babble makes little sense like me, a bureaucrat, we can fool Bazzit into thinking that we know what we’re talking about by suggesting that

‘It looks like something that could modify its head.’

That will convince Bazzit to give you the device and he will give you the device and tells you to go talk with Deidre Lux for more information. You will receive a mission.

Mission: Talk to Deidre Lux in Stret West Bank about the strange device you got from Uncle Bazzit.

The quickest path to Deidre Lux is to enter the grid from MMD, exit at Borealis and take the whompa to Stret West Bank. Miss Lux will be just south of where you exit round inside the Courtyard in Last Ditch.

When you meet and tell her that Uncle Bazzit sent you she will ask to have a look at the device that Bazzit gave you. After a quick look we get the feeling that she wants us to help her out with something first and she gives us a 1st edition Pistola Di Macchina 2. Important: Make a noteof the frequency that she quotes, it will be very important later on!

Mission: Deidre needs a new gun. Part 1

-Give the 1st edition Pistola Di Macchina Mini Automatico 2 to someone able to tune or replace it.

Deidre Lux has given you a pistol in need of tuning. You should make sure that Omni-Trans exchange it with a fully functioning pistol.

Time to complete: 9 hours, 30 minutes

Make a note of the frequency that she wants the pistol tuned to. Having received all the information needed we’re ready to pay Omni-Trans a visit about that lifetime warrant of theirs.

To reach our next destination take the whompa back to Borealis and grid to Omni-Trade. Once you exit from the grid head south to the center of the city where the Omni-Trans HQ is located. The person we’re looking for is Commander Kend Ash.

Informing her that you’re here to get a malfunctioning pistol replaced she initially wasn’t too eager to cooperate until you mention that it was from Deidre Lux. That got her attention and finally wants to take a look at the malfunctioning pistol. Once again, we get the feeling that nothing on Rubi-Ka is free and we get the feeling that we need to do something for her first. She hands you a Modified Tracking Device and you receive a new mission.

Mission: Deidre needs a new gun. Part 2

-Find the leader of the Vanguard operation in Old Athens and target him until the tracking device registers his location.

Deidre Lux has given you a pistol in need of tuning. It seems that Commander Kend Ash, who represents Omni-Trans, needs you to find out who is heading the Vanguard operation in Old Athens before she can help you with the weapon.

Time to complete: 9 hours

She only wants us to travel to Old Athens, a Clan city with some of the toughest Clan guards on all of Rubi-Ka (surpassing even the Sentinel guards in Tir), walk up to the leader of Vanguard Clan and survive. In return she will tune our pistol and have her ‘undying’ gratitude. Fun huh?

Before you proceed, it is highly recommended that you get into your Yalm first. If you don’t have one, now is a good time to buy one. The fastest way to our destination is to go back to the grid terminal and take the Old Athens exit. First thing you do once you get out is FLY UP! If a Vanguard is nearby they can send you to the reclaim faster than a Militant Clanner cutting down innocent civilians at Omni-Entertainment.

The person you’re looking for is Ramon Bauer just west of where you gridded in. The overhang makes it slightly tricky to find him but all you need to do is target him to finish the mission and get a new one.

Mission: Deidre needs a new gun. Part 3

- Return the Tracking Device to Kend Ash.

Deidre Lux has given you a pistol in need of tuning. It seems that Commander Kend Ash, who represents Omni-Trans, needs you to find out who is heading the Vanguard operation in Old Athens before she can help you with the weapon.

Time to complete: 12 hours

Grid back out before one of the Vanguards notice you and head back to Commander Kend Ash in Omni-Trade.

She seems happy enough that we survived and once we give her the tracking device back and offers to tune the pistol as promised. Did you remember to what frequency Deidre Lux wanted? It was 0.00022. We give her the 1st edition Pistola Di Macchina 2 and she returns the tuned pistol to you.

Mission: Deidre needs a new gun. Part 5

- Give the tuned pistol to Deidre Lux.

Deidre Lux has given you a pistol in need of tuning. It is now fully operational at frequency .000022 Hz.

Take the tuned pistol back to Deidre Lux in Stret West Bank. She thanks you and informs you that Ofoz might be able to help you. But that requires membership in the Fixers only group the Smokers Lounge. Since I don’t happen to be a Fixer Deidre tells us that the next best thing will be to get an affiliate card. Left with little choice, we have to go ahead with the tests to gain the affiliate card.
