The Merchant Trader-Buying the World

Part B - Buying the World

Hay guys, this is part B of my guide to the Trade Market of Dragonica.

The Basics

How do I buy an item?

So, you've found that pearl-necklace that you always thought would look dashing with you new dress. How do I buy it?

SIMPLE!!

1. Click the item you wish to buy.
2. Click the icon on the item. A Menu will pop up.

3. Click Purchase.
4. A window will pop up to confirm with you that you are spending so and so amount. In this case, I am spending 1 Gold.

5. Click "BUY" or Press F1.
6. Congrats, you are now a proud owner of something

Finding Items to Buy

Method 1 - Store browser

Think of it as when you go shopping in a mall. You got from store to store, looking and browsing. (Window Shopping?)

1. To access a STORE, when you open the trade window, you will automatically be presented with a list of stores, to visit.

2. Double click on the store you want to visit.
3. You will be presented with the store's catalog of items.

4. Just click and purchase what you want.

Method 2 - The Search Bar

This is a more advanced tier of BUYING, as it requires a skill which many lack. Spelling. But fret not!! This guide will help you (I hope)

1. You have an urge to spend.
2. You saw some swanky looking weapon with the prefix "Blaze".
3. You open up the trade Window.
4. You will find the search bar up the top right hand corner of the window.
5. You type in the word "Blaze".

6. You click the SEARCH button.
7. It shows up a list of items that start with the word "Blaze" or contain the word blaze.

8. You decide you don't wanna see ALL the stuff with the word "Blaze".
9. You type in a new search "Blaze Crossbow".

10. It searches for the item fitting the word "Blaze Crossbow"

NOTE : Spelling is EXTREMELY vital for this to work. The words "Blaze" and "blaze" are not the same. Capitals are required for most words.

In this part, I will be focusing mainly on suggestions on what to buy. Things that will be popular and basically just my opinion on the market.

This section is mainly subject to opinion and changing of times. It is not accurate.

Profit's from Spending?

Yes!! This is a guide on how people can MAKE money from SPENDING their money.

You will need,
- A Clear Goal of how much money you want to make.
- Luck
- Spare Time
- Lots of spare Gold.

What do I mean from gaining profits from spending?

Well essentially what I mean is spending an amount of gold on buying something in the market and re-selling said item, making back the money I had initially paid in the first place. The MAIN aim of this method is MAKING a profit and of course, a majority of this is based on luck (Someone HAS to sell the item below cost before purchasing). Essentially, your banking in on people's mistakes to sell items below what their worth.

Also, debate with your self if you CAN sell this item. There is no point if you buy an item, only to find that it is no longer usable or expires in a couple days/hours/minutes.

But lets move on, here is an example of a scenario on how to profit from spending.

1. I'm looking for Farrel gloves.
2. I do abit of research and based on observation of the trade market, I find the gloves cost, an average 8-10 Gold.
3. I browse around and I find a nice, cheap pair of gloves for 4 Gold.
4. I buy it!!
5. I immediately put it back up for sale in MY store for 7 gold 50 silvers.
6. I'll be making a profit of 3 gold 50 silvers.

NOW TAKE NOTE!! The amount you sell it for depends purely on how much you are willing to risk in terms of saleability. It gets VERY difficult to sell an item above average, and very HARD to gain the maximum potential profit when you sell it below average.

The safest bet is to stick onto the average prices. But of course you have to take in the factors of how badly you want to sell and item. If your looking for quick money, you should never be afraid to lower the cost of your item if someone else is selling it cheaper, but NEVER make the risk to do it below for what you paid for.

Items that sell well with this method?

- Hidden Map Scrolls.

I've bought Thieves scrolls for 25-50 silver each, only to resell them for 1G to 1G 50S. Judge the market before hand and also calculate to yourself if using the scrolls would yield faster money, or would selling them make faster money. Market the Hidden Maps like their absolute gold mines. Tickets to selling them quick!!

- RARES!!

You'll be surprised how easy how many people don't care how much they sell rares for. Rare equips are good because they will be popular with many people and it is easy to make a profit from rare-equipment. The above example of the Farrel glove is actually form a personal experience of mine.

- Set Equipment

Set Equipment are good long-term items because alot of people try to get rid of them quickly by selling them cheap. The average price one would be expecting to pay for a set item is 1G. Scout around, and you could find a piece for 50 Silvers if lucky. Rare pieces command higher profits.

This method of BUYING and SELLING items is by nature, extremely competitive and should only be considered by those looking to profit from shopping. It takes A LOT of spare time to monitor a market and see what sells and what doesn't.

Just remember that the goal is to make a profit.

NOTE : This method does not guarantee LONG term gold or profits. What you make is based purely on effort, time and luck. There may be factors unknowingly at work that stop you from making that big sale. In the trade market, you have no friends. Its the difference between making a sale and making a loss.

Summary Notes :

MORE TO COME!! This entry is not yet finished, but has been partially done.
