Judgement of Duelist

By ValerieRose

This very annoying quest starts at lvl 39 for Human Warriors that want to become Gladiators, Palus Knights that want to become BladeDancers, Elven Knights that want to become SwordSingers and Orc Monks. The quest itself isn't very complicated at all. Basically you'll be given a list of monsters to hunt all over the map, and that's it. But that's where it gets annoying.

Anyway, I digress. The quest starts at the Town of Oren, at the Warrior Guild. You need to talk to Duelist Kaien, who will explain a little bit more about Duelists and the challenge you're supposed to take. He will give you a list of monsters that you have to kill and bring 10 of their items. Prepare to port all over the map, good thing that ports are now free until lvl 41 since CT2.

So that's it for the first part. Yes, a lot of mobs, but the drop rate is 100% so you will need 10 of each of the mobs.

Here are the locations for the mobs that Kaien listed. I went with the order he gave me, so first stop was Gludio. And this is perhaps one of the most dangerous, since you need to go deep into Ants' Nest. In any case, Punchers are the easiest. They can be found at the Wastelands, which is a port directly from Gludin.

The Noble Ant Leaders are a little more tricky. My suggestion is to avoid going alone there unless you really have no choice. Noble Ant Leaders are found deep in the Ants' Nest. Keep on your right past the first rooms (turning right at the first room), until you reach a room full (and I really mean FULL) of red ants. The red ants are aggro, so you might want to take care of that room first. The Noble Ant Leaders are found two rooms after the one with the red ants. The Noble Ant Leaders are aggro, and the Noble Ants are Social, so if you're trying this alone, make sure you have a lot of healing potions and lure the Leaders out of the room so you don't have the whole room on you.

Then on to Dion. Marsh Stakato Drones can be found around Cruma Tower, if you port to Cruma Tower directly from Dion, you'll find them around that area.

Then, always in Dion, the Dead Seekers can be found at the Execution Grounds. No ports there unless you choose to pay Ancient Adena and port through the Priest of Dawn/Priestess of Dusk. Otherwise, you need to run there. Be careful as the Execution Grounds is a known griefer place, so always get your Blessing of Protection when you go there.

Then in the Giran area: the Breka Orc Overlords are in the Breka's Stronghold, which is a port directly from Giran.

The Fettered Souls can be found at Death Pass, but I usually port to Hardin's Private Academy and hunt them in the fields there, it's easier to find them and there are more of them around there. Up to you.

Then on to the Oren monsters. The Enchanted Monstereyes can be found at the Ivory Tower Crater (Usually called Ivory Tower Pit). So the port is to Ivory Tower, then run out of the tower and to the crater that can be found underneath it.

The Leto Lizardmen Overlords can be found at the Plains of Lizardmen. Port directly from Oren, but be careful, they're aggro. And they're usually next to Shamans that are social. Be careful with the Lord of the Plains groups. They're aggro too, avoid them.

Then you need to head to Hunter's Village for the Tamlin Orc and Tamlin Orc Archers. There's no direct port for them, just run from Hunters Village there. Luckily, both of the mobs are found at the same area, so you don't have to head anywhere else for them.

So after ALL that (no, it's not over yet, trust me), you must go back to Kaien. He will tell you HE is too tired (funny eh?) to count, and will give you yet another list of monsters to hunt as your "final" trial. Good thing it is the final trial indeed!

So ANOTHER list of mobs. Good Grief... anyway... at least this time you only need 3 of each, always 100% drop rate, which means 3 mobs. The drop rate is referring to the post CT2 enhanced quests, just as a reminder.

Let's start with the closest ones. Since you're in Oren, the closest one would be the Timak Orc Overlords. If you run out of Oren towards the Timak Outpost, you will find them more easily. If you prefer to port (I don't recommend because you will end up running more than if you just run out there), the closest port is Plains of Lizardmen, or if you choose to use Ancient Adena, port from the Priest of Dawn/Dusk Priestess.

Then also in Hunters Village, you will have to hunt Lakins. They used to be a little tricky to find, but if you go towards the Hunter's Fortress, they're all around there.

Then the last stop is Cruma Tower. This time you need to go inside for the Excuros and Krators. Beware though that Cruma Tower mobs were enhanced, so bring lots of potions and/or help. All the mobs there are social to each other now, Catheroks are aggro and they stun, so be careful.

Phew! And that's it. Go back to Oren, talk to Kaien and he will give you the Mark of Duelist, and 447444 EXP/30704 SP as of CT2 enhanced rewards.

Congratulations!
