Description

Trader Katerina deals jewels as a subsidiary business. She asks you to head to the Elven Ruins to get soul ore shards, which were used by the ancient Elven mages. As you have been told, you shall find Salamanders and Undines in the Elven Ruins, and you may earn the 'flame shard' and the 'ice shard' from them.

1) This quest starts in the grocery store in Talking Island village, with Trader Katerina. If you agree to help her she asks that you hunt in the Elven Ruins, the salamanders and undines.

2) Both can be found in various rooms in the Elven Ruins, some rooms have only undine, some have only salamanders, and the library area, which is down the first hall you port into, turn right at the circle room, and the room on the right, has both.

It can be done solo but it's difficult so at least one other person would be best. In the library room there is a second floor you can perch on to shoot down at the mobs if you have a ranged weapon, but be warned the mobs KNOW where the stairs are, they will head right to the stairs, climb up them and find you.

3) When you have some flame and ice shards head back to the village and turn them into Katerina for adena, the money is around 245 per piece but the mobs are rather hard if you solo it.
