Alright so I was thinking about lapis and started on the subject of OP hammers. Lately the absolute cheapest price you can find is like 75 mil. Now, as far as sonic, accessory, lvl 6, etc OPs are of course needed. But they are getting so expensive i wonder if they are becoming a waste for level 5 lapis.

The exception i see is lvl 5 craft cuz it sells for 30 mil and is quite hard to find. but the average lvl 5 is no longer in short supply and costs about 15 mil. So you could have one try at 50% using an OP hammer for 90 mil minimum. Or you could have 6 tries with no hammer at 8% for the same price.

My experience with linking 5s with no hammer (i've done it only once with sp) is that I used about 10-15 i didn't keep exact count. so let's say 12 which is equal to two using OPs in terms of cost.

Now, It's still debatable which is better right now but if the price of OPs gets any higher, it's going to be completely a waste to use them for level 5 (except perhaps craft). and there is of course the chance to get lucky and spend much much less if you get it to link in less than 6. But with an op you will spend at least 90 mil and if it fails once 180 mil. I'm not going to think if it fails again but you know it gets really expensive really quick.

I could feel confident enough to say that it's unlikely you would fail more than 3 with OPs, but that would equate to 18 without OPs and honestly i'd be pretty confident to say you would get one to link out of the 18. Just a thought i had. i do know many people don't even use OPs for 5s and I may be joining them soon. In the begining i used to use 2x hammers for dual lapis, but quickly learned i could get about 4 more lapis in place of one hammer and 5 at 16% is better than 1 at 32.
