Ok, I must admit that the title was mainly to catch some attention and to help myself getting killed less often since I'm mostly lvl-ing on channel 7 (!).

First off: It only works for mellee fighters (BL, WA, FB, disoriented other classes)

Just hit your spacebar, don't caress it - HIT it - you are not in some petting zoo! (And it might not get your keystroke if you just tap it.) The most essential thing to it is the timing though. When your final skill before the mob dies went off and after it took its first damage from this skill is the time we are looking for. As a blader I have quite a variety of suitable skills (e.g. Hasing Dance / Mirage Grind) since they have a casting time of around 4 seconds.

If you do it right you will have the item/money in your inventory before the mob is dead, but it'll die from the skill anyways so....

I experienced this to be quite helpful when combo-ing since you'll have time to pick up the item, choose a new mob and even some time to wait for your skill to finish instead of having to wait and nervously look if something drops.
