1. Visit https://www.cabalonline.com/account

2. Click the 'Forgot Username' button

Once the password has been reset, you will receive a confirmation email.


Your CABAL Online Secret Question and Answer are vital pieces of information, which are required in order to prove ownership over your account. Please ensure that you know your secret question and answer and that the details you use will not be forgotten! If you wish to change the secret questions and answers you selected during registration, please follow the steps below:

1. All changes to your secret question and answer must go through the support department. If you have not already done so, register for the support system and log into your account.
2. Once you have registered and logged in, create a support ticket under the account department. In the header put the title "REQUEST: Change Secret Q A".
3. In the body of your message you must provide Game-Masters.com with the following:

Here's list of different methods to also help with the tech. problems:

Method 1 - Press CTRL ALT DELETE to open up the task manager and click Processes. If you find "GameMon.des" (or something similar), click "End Process" then "Yes". If that doesn't work then restart your computer or play Cabal under a different windows user account.

Method 2 - Running a virus and spyware scan is highly recommended. Close all programs and try again.

Recommended software:


Ad-Aware SE (Personal Edition)

Windows Defender


Method 3 - This shows that something on your PC is preventing GameGuard from running. Disable Windows Firewall and all 3rd party firewalls. Temporarily disable your anti-virus and anti-spy (or uninstall them if all else fails). Click Start then Run. Type "services.msc" without the quotes. Make sure the following services are disabled from startup and the service is stopped. (to do this, right click on the item).

- Automatic Updates
- Background Intelligent Transfer Service
- Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing
- Security Center

If you've done that then Windows Firewall has been completely disabled. (You can turn it on again anytime you want). If Cabal still doesn't work, try this. With Cabal installed, download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Find Cabal and click remove. Now uninstall Cabal. This will now be a fresh, new install. Download the client again and install normally. If it still doesn't work, try this. Press CTRL ALT DELETE to open the task manager and click Processes. Kill of any programs that you know is safe to close. ProcessScan will scan your processes and tell you what is safe and what is not. You should not kill any of the following processes:

- explorer.exe
- svchost.exe (there are multiple, don't end any of them)
- lsass.exe
- services.exe
- winlogon.exe
- csrss.exe
- smss.exe
- System
- System Idle Process

If that still doesn't work, then I have one last solution. Uninstall Cabal. Start > Control Panel > User Accounts. Create a new user account as an administrator. Now on that account, download and re-install Cabal.

Method 4 - GameGuard is corrupted. Delete the GameGuard folder, run Cabal and let it download the new GameGuard patch.

Method 5 - Go to C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc/ and delete the HOSTS file.

Method 6 - Make sure you are connected to the internet.
- Make sure you have the required minimum specs.
- Make sure you live in the EU and your country is supported by the game

deniropl's method:

-Remove Cabal completely.
-Download and install "cabal_online_client_EU_070604_setup.zip"
-Delete update.exe and start the game.
-It should now update a new update.exe to replace that one you just deleted.
-Wait for it to download the updates.

Note: The biggest update is 324, so finding a link for flashget or something COULD be a faster option than waiting for it to download through the client.

If people can't download the updates through the updater than they should use the following link and replace the "XXX" by the number of the update they need

So for example, if I needed update_338, I'd replace the "XXX" with "338".

Lawl.. Ok, the person I was testing it with seems to have buggered off and not come back.

He used an older installer to reinstall Cabal. He also deleted Gameguard beforehand.

EDIT: He came back and apparently it didn't work, but at least we found another possible problem. Try this method anyway and see if it works.

First off... We replaced the Gameguard folders and individual files contained within the First Page of the Directory.

Completely replaced those files^. Do not touch any other ones, only the ones contained in the .rar.




Next, we started the game and got a Woman3.ech error. I sent the file via MSN and he replaced it.

After this we got 4 more errors. These were .enc files. So again, I sent them via MSN.

Data ->> Replace all the individual files in here, do not touch the folders.
dataitemitem.enc ->> Replace ONLY this one.

The .rar contains a .doc with the paths you need to place them at. =P. If I missed anything out I apologise.

Tell me if you encounter any more problems and I'll edit the technique tried.





If, per chance your Cabal stops working (freezes) and the reset button on your PC doesn't work (and you have 2 or more memory cards), cut the power > unmount one of them > restart Cabal without deleting Gameguard > turn off > remount the memory card > restart AGAIN and run Cabal after deleting Gameguard.


Final Method to try -

First erase npptnt2.sys and nppt9x.vxd from your system, don't worry, it'll be restored.
Open Notepad, write:
@echo off
net stop npptnt2

Don't save as txt, select "all files". Name it like "GGoff.bat" w/o quotes. Save. Put a shortcut at your desktop, everytime you quit a game with Gameguard just run GGoff.bat and erase npptnt2.sys. Aways clean your C:/Windows/Prefetch folder as well.

Delete GameGuard folder from your cabal directory.

You can try to remove these registry entries, also:

  1. Start -> Run
  2. Type "regedit"
  3. Hit Enter

Might need to set access rights (be administrator of your computer) to remove these two:

-Then reboot the computer.

Concerning Lag:



If you are experiencing problems with lag, then it is advisable to check your PC specifications against the minimum requirements on the homepage.

If you are still experiencing lag when you have surpassef those requirements, a few things need to be looked at:
  1. Background Processes
  2. Conflicting Software
  3. Hardware
  4. Drivers

1) Background processes.

Anything running in the background that you do not need needs to be switched "OFF" whilst Cabal is open. In a lot of cases, a few processes are perceived as threatening by Gameguard and it won't let you run the game.

These processes are a MUST for keeping your PC running properly.

- explorer.exe
- svchost.exe (there are multiple, don't end any of them)
- lsass.exe
- services.exe
- winlogon.exe
- csrss.exe
- smss.exe
- System
- System Idle Process

"explore.exe" can be shut down if necessary.

2)Software.

Any programs that could interfere with either the Client or Gameguard will be seen as a threat and/or will affect gameplay negatively.

-Intelligent Transfer Programs
-Instant Messaging Programs
-Download Managers
-Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware Software

Are amongst the main culprits when looking at this problem. Turn off things such as MSN, Yahoo! Messenger and Skype.

XFire can be left online but it won't work properly with the game.

Most processes get killed when opened with the client running, i.e MSN Plus .


If you want to allow ports for Cabal:



Go to Start > Run> Type in cmd

then type in netstat -n -p tcp

The ports used are at the end of the IP addresses.

Ports should be:

80 : For launcher
38101: For login server
38111-38114: For game server

That's what I found^. Don't know if yours varies.



3)Hardware.

If your specifications aren't to the minimum then you need to make the necessary adjustments in order to play: upgrade the hardware. (or directx to directx 9.0c or better)

If you are above those requirements and still suffer from lag, it could be a number of things.
  • Loss of packets
  • Not enough memory


Those are two of the worst culprits, and loss of packets would be a problem on the ISP's end.

Contact your ISP and find out if there are any problem with the line between you and them, and then check the ping.

  1. Start -. Run
  2. Type CMD
  3. Hit Enter
  4. Type "ping cabalonline.com -t"
  5. Hit Enter


Do this whilst the Cabal client is open, it helps check for any packet loss. Contact your ISP about any problems with this too.

  1. Start -> Run
  2. Type CMD
  3. Hit Enter
  4. Type "pathping 72.233.13.135"
  5. Hit Enter


sprintlink.net and databank.com may be the worst ones that show up.

These are just two of the routes the site uses, and they're pretty messed up to be honest, a lot of people suffer from time-outs and packet loss with it.

Memory:
Another method to try to sort lag out would be to increase memory capacity. Either buy more memory or uninstall everything you don't use/need, everything non-essential to you.

Increasing the free memory increases the ability for Swap-Files to work more efficiently. Swap-Files use HDD Memory as RAM, in-case you were wondering, so it's helps the PC run faster and thus smoother.


4) Drivers.


Well, ignore the CD's that came with the hardware, go directly to the official site of the manufacturer and download the latest driver(s) available. Make sure it's all up-to-date.




If, per chance you get the "failed to download server information. please restart launcher." error:
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Temp Files
  • Reboot PC

To delete temp files:

* Control Panel
* Tools > Folder Options > View >Show hidden files
* Accept
* Open "My Computer"
* Select "Documents and Settings"
* Secelt your username file
* Select "Local Settings" folder
* There are two temp files in there for most XP users.

You can try to delete both if you wish.
