Age Old Dispute Finally Settled

A battle that had been building for thousands of years finally kicked off in Wonderland, Aries server, on February 25th. Cats versus Dogs had been in the works since the Egyptians picked cats as gods and the dogs took offense. Since then there have been many smaller fights, but this one was to decide the matter once and for all.

I decided to head out a little early and find out what all the fuss was about, after all Dogs have been chasing Cats, and vice versa, as far back as I could remember. As I walked along, I noticed a lot of people with different animal pets. I assumed they were heading to the church as well since they all seemed to be heading in the same direction I was. This event was specifically to settle the Cat/Dog dispute, but that didn't seem to dampen anyone's enthusiasm, as I saw various pets everywhere I looked!

When I entered Holy I walked around a bit. I was a little late but I wanted to see who was around. I saw some people sitting around the fountain, but I decided not to dawdle and hurried onwards to the church. As soon I got there, and was ready to enter, the announcement said the teams had already been chosen. I was too late to sign my own Kitty up.

When I entered it was full of people, and random battles were already breaking out. As a devoted Cat lover, I personally feel it was probably the Dogs fault. Then I noticed some people were using human pets so I figured they were not official battles, after all the GM wasn't announcing any of them yet.

As the minutes dragged on, the crowd slowly dwindled and the teams became more apparent.
Even as the event began, side battles continued to settle other animal disputes. I would've thought Cats and Birds, or Dogs and Cars, but the Cats and Dogs were otherwise engaged at the time.

The fighting arena was the area with the trapdoor. Only the teams chosen by the GM could enter and fight, while everyone else had to stay out and watch from another spot. Some people did not listen of course and would still enter the arena. I think the GM had to actually force someone out several times, but they kept coming back for more! Probably a Dog lover!

Then the official battles started. The rules were that only pets could fight, no buffs or attacks by characters were allowed. Each team was allowed to use healing items up to 3 times, but no skills at all. Everyone thought this was very clear, but problems inevitably emerged.

Like in many events, people did not listen (or chose not to). The GM stated the rules over and over again, and warned any team violating them would be automatically disqualified, allowing the other team to win. But, to no avail.

There were some who thought this didn't apply to them, or that passionate Cat and Dog owners wouldn’t notice (as if!). Though, I'll admit it made it more interesting to watch. These rule breakers were eventually disqualified and if they did not run away when the GM told them to (after the rules violations were announced) the GM threatened to force them. Always entertaining!

Despite the event being a bit disorganized, it was a lot of fun and very interesting. I would have liked to participate, and, though some teams actually invited me to join, I decided that being a Kitty cheerleader was enough fun for me this time. My poor little kitty wouldn't have lasted long anyhow. ?
