What's a Glitch and How to Handle It

Every once in a great while there may be a technical issue on Gaia that results in an account gaining/losing Gold or items unexpectedly. If it wasn¡¯t from your market sale, trade, etc., make a detailed note of what happened because you may have run into a ¡°site glitch¡± that is affecting your account¡¯s inventory. Having specific information such as "I gained 9,000,000,000 brown beetles" or "I lost 50,000 gold and an OMFG Hat" will help Gaia Staff resolve the issue more rapidly should you have been affected by a glitch.

No need to panic though¡­simply check the Site Feedback forum for topics about any recent incidents. If you don't see a thread about any related issue yet, feel free to start one. Important: Avoid the temptation to take advantage of any glitch though (spending the excess Gold or selling the items that don¡¯t technically belong to you) since that¡¯s against the Terms of Service and can get your accounts banned.

Typically in a glitch, the quantities of gold or items are significant enough that they are very obvious. For example, you unexpectedly find 1,000,000 extra gold or 149,000,000 brown beetles in your account. Hold onto the excess gold/items until a Staff member can resolve your issue (you might even get some ¡°brownie points¡± for handling the situation properly).
