"Experience Points," often abbreviated "XP" or "Exp," is the unit of measurement for character level advancement. Advancing to the next level requires a fixed amount of experience points, determined by a formula.

In Aion: The Tower of Eternity, you primarily earn XP from killing mobs and completing quests, but you can also earn some from exploring.

This is a descendant of the old D&D concept, which is now a standard in almost every fantasy game.
