TextHello there! These notes should help you make a Twistwood Staff that I can examine to evaluate your progress. I'm sure you'll make a great one, so don't worry about it! Just try to have some fun while you collect the ingredients and begin carving! Here's what you'll need to gather!

TREATED YEW

I think about five pieces of treated yew should be enough, but you'll need to gather more branches than that. You might find a piece or two along the northern Greenway, but I wouldn't expect you to find enough. If you're up for a bit of a journey, yew is fairly plentiful throughout the Lone-lands. A journeyman forester can treat the pieces for you.

TWISTED BRANCH

Hold on! Don't go running off just yet! Not just any twisted branch will do. There used to be a grove of just the right sort of trees not far from Staddle, but a Man by the name of Harmon Rushes came to town, and well, he said he was a woodworker. He seemed friendly enough, so I said he could use any of the wood from the grove that he needed. You'll never believe what he did next! He cleared out the whole grove and had it all carted away to the Lone-lands! I hear he's outfitting villainous dwarves with wood from my grove, and they're attacking passers-by!

The dwarves have apparently set up camp in the old keep of Mithrenost in the central Lone-lands, along the southern hills. Harmon might give you a Twisted Branch if you ask nicely!

And I'm sure the dwarves he is with are an unsavoury sort, so be extra careful! I don't think Harmon Rushes is in Mithrenost proper -- look for him on the low-ground at the base of the cliffs on which the ruins can be found. Just north of them, I mean! There aren't enough of us woodworkers around as it is!
