  • The Path To Learning, Part IV
TextYou will need several materials and sources of some lost texts if you are to reconstruct the Chant of the Stalwart. I hope that these notes will aid you in your study, for I would very much like to hear it in its original form, if that is possible.

UNDECIPHERED MOON-LETTERS

Do not dispose of parchment, even if it appears to be absent of writing! Some letters can only be read by the light of a particular moon, and these may hold the most valuable information of all...they were deemed significant enough to have need of secrecy. The ashen sands of Angmar cover now many such sources...thinking creatures of that land pick them up and are frustrated by their inability to determine their meaning.

LONG LOST SECOND AGE TEXTS

Many texts from the Second Age have been lost beneath the tread of evil feet in the land of Angmar. Thinking creatures pick up pieces of these texts, and though they may be able to understand them, such knowledge brings them little comfort, for theirs is not the path of learning. Look for the bearers of such texts in the foothills of Fasach-falroid and in the great swamp of Malenhad.

RUINED DWARF-MANUSCRIPT

If dwarves ever lived in the foothills of Fasach-falroid, as I believe they did, they no doubt left some sign of their presence behind. Do not be distracted by the totems and statuary erected by the evil Men of Angmar...see beneath their workings, and you will see the truth of what came before. They pay homage to a hilltop cairn in Fasach-falroid, and from my studies I feel that this is the same hill mentioned in other sources I have obtained. Pay no heed to the trappings of Angmar and search this hill for a stone containing record of the dwarves I think must once have lived there.

Once you obtain the sources I have detailed here, I ask you to reconstruct the chant of the stalwart and bring it to me for my perusal.
