The Ranger is the master of ranged combat. Be it bows, crossbows, or guns, the Ranger is the only class in Vana?diel capable of putting these weapons to their full uses. The Ranger is good at doing maximum damage over range before entering melee combat, which helps them take as little damage as possible.

Unlocking The Job (Must Be Level 30)

Location: Windurst Woods (K-7)
Get the quest from Perih Vashai. Go to Samarouge Chaplain. At L-10, there is a sabertooth den. Watch an old saber tooth die and then examine the old tiger bones to get the item. Return it to Perih Vashai and the job of a Ranger is attained.
