Dragoons are a unique type of Melee warrior. Dragoons master the arts of the spear, and jump techniques that amplify damage by their spears. Dragoons are also capable of summoning small dragons, or Wyverns, to assist them in battle.

Unlocking The Job (Must Be Level 30)

Quest Giver: Oiheaurese
Location: Cathedral in Northern San Doria (L-7)
Go to Cargo Room A at I-10 at Port Sandoria and talk to Arminibit and Ceraulian. Find Novalmauge down in Bostaunieux Oubliette. This is located in the castle down at I-8 in North Sandoria. Go talk Morjean at the Cathedral and then get the quest from Oiheaurese. Get pickaxes with you at lease six. Go to Shakrami Maze and find "Excavation Points." Some are located at G-7 and I-6. After finding a Dragon Egg using the pick axe, go back and talk to Morjean. Yachemidot will give another quest. Go to Meritauphid Mountains at K-8. It is at the east end of the Dragon Spine. Find a "???" and trade the egg to trigger an event. Go back to Chateau d'Oraguille which is the castle in Northern Sandoria then enter into Royal Knights' Quarters at H-9. Talk to Rahal to get an item. Then head to After Ghelsba Outpost find "Hide Door" at G-10 to fight the Dragon. Defeat it to obtain the job of a Dragoon.

As of a recent patch (March 7, 2007 update), your Wyvern will now perform the following Emotes: /blush, /bow, /cheer, /clap, /dance, /goodbye, /hurray, /joy, /panic, /point, /salute, /surprised, /wave

Angon	75 (Merit)	30 Seconds	3 Minutes	Expends an Angon to lower an enemy's defense.

Your Wyvern and you

Your choice of Sub-job affects the type of Wyvern you have as a Dragoon - Offensive, Defensive, and Hybrid.

1. Offensive Wyverns will use an Elemental Breath attack whenever you use a Weaponskill and comes with the following sub-jobs:
   1. Warrior
   2. Monk
   3. Thief
   4. Samurai
   5. Ranger
   6. Beastmaster
   7. Corsair
   8. Dancer
2. Defensive Wyverns will use Healing Breath whenever you cast a spell when below 33% HP (or 50% with Drachen Armet - AF Helmet equipped) and will remove various status ailments when you use a weaponskill and comes with the following sub-jobs:
   1. White Mage
   2. Black Mage
   3. Thief
   4. Summoner
   5. Blue Mage
   6. Scholar
   7. Red Mage
3. Hybrid Wyverns use both Healing Breath AND Elemental Breath attakcs, however, they will only heal when you're below 25% HP and will only target the Wyvern's owner, and comes with the following sub-jobs:
   1. Bard
   2. Dark Knight
   3. Ninja
   4. Paladin
