The mystical musician of Vana?diel, the bard?s weapon is his voice and his instruments. The bard is a master of music. Bards use their music to lift the spirits of those around them to increase their abilities in combat. Bards also use the power of sound to deal damage to those that oppose them.

Unlocking The Job (Must Be Level 30)

Quest Giver: Mertaire
Location: Lower Jeuno
Talk to all the NPCs located in Lower Jeuno at the Merry Minstrel at I-8. You need Parchment for this quest. Go to Buburimu Peninsula next. Go to the main beach, and through a cave, you can get to G-9. When you find the song rune, trade the Parchment to it. Return to Mertaire to finish the first part of the quest, then head to Valkurm Dunes. Go all the way to the northwest past the goblins and lizards until you come to a cave that leads off the map. Pass through and you will end up at a beach. Fine the other Song Runes and examine it. After the cutscene you will receive 5,000 gil and access to the Bard job.
