The Infamous King Black Dragon Himself

So you want to kill the King Black Dragon huh? You sure you got the guts for it, little man? ;-)

Alright, first off, Lag Free tips (to as best as you can get them to my knowledge) for runescape, that especially help with KBD.

First off, STOP ALL DOWNLOADS. Close messenger services like MSN + AIM, or programs that combine that.

Now that you've done that, check your toolbar for useless items on it that are taking up CPU Usage. I usually only have Internet+ZoneAlarm firewall running at this time (never close zonealarm, you never know when someone will try to portscan you). Now, go to your desktop screen. Got over 3 things that aren't really necessary on Desktop? Make a folder for them to stay in.

Now, go do a Disk defragmentation, and wipe your internet history. This ***will*** speed you up alot. Disk defragmentations can take a long time if you haven't done it in a while, so do it overnight. Every say 3 nights to a week do that. If you're reliant on your address bar for your websites, save the ones you use under "Favourites" For when you do delete your internet history, anyways.

If you aren't already using F1, use it already you idiot (sorry, but I'm in a semi-bad mood at the time of writing )! This cuts graphics in half, but also speeds you up a huge amount.

Now, onto the King Black Dragon itself.

If you're willing to share kills, and I am, it IS worth bringing that friend, it'll cut down on food spent overall, if you're around the same Hits levels.

Personally, I don't recommend taking a dragonstone amulet incase you lag while running and are trying to teleport, you'll probably be caught before you do teleport, and say "Bye bye" to the lair, and Hello Lumbridge. Teleport runes own when lagging.

Before you even go to the King Black Dragon, go to the monastery if you're high enough prayer (if you're trying KBD, you should be able to ;-) ). Use Paralyze Monster IN THE FIRST FIGHT. Otherwise next time you fight it it'll drain your 3 prayer down to 1 :'(

If you know how to flick Paralyze Monster on and off at the right moments, don't bother with this paragraph... When fighting Dragons, you'll notice they fire about 3 breaths of fire between each hit. After you've hit it, it fires a breath, this is the time to flick on prayer RIGHT NOW. Once it fires the next flame turn it back off. This saves you around 2/3 of the prayer you would have used that round say you had just used it the whole time. Practice this on Baby Blue Dragons if you're a reasonably low combat level (80-).

Now, since I'm presuming you're perfected that, let's try Mode switching for when the KBD does start firing its breath off at you. In doing this, you switch to defense just after you hit him, and switch to aggressive/accurate just after you are hit. Practice this in duels with friends, this method is also useful for stake duels.

Now, before you go down into the pit, you did bring your POISON ANTIDOTE right? Drink it just before you go into the 4 lessers + ladder area. This ***will*** save you some Hits.

Now for the food. I personally recommend Sharks, as they make your trip last a KBD or two longer. However, if you require your sharks for PK'ing or don't have any, Swordfish/curry are sufficient.
