So you have become a member and you think you have what it takes to be a good dueller. So lets get started.

Making your Character

Normal defence pure

These are really good duellers. The idea of this dueller is to not get hit while hitting your opponent quite often but not hitting high.
Guidelines for this dueller.


Defence ?¨C 10 = Attack ?¨C 10 = Strength.

These pures are extremely versatile because you can make them to be any lvl.

Tank Mage

These are really good duellers but are extremely expensive if you want to be successful as a tank mage you will need at least 77 magic. That will cost up to 15 mill!!!

Defence 60 and mage 77-80


These duellers have high defence and high magic to beat up there opponent with magic. Usually they use the mage arena spells and the charge spell to double the damage they do with the spell. I recommend Claws of guthix as the spell you use because it lowers defence meaning that you hit higher every time u hit your opponent.

Balanced Pure

These are not as good as the other duellers. These duellers have all equal stats to hit often and moderately high and don?¡¯t get hit that often.

Defence=attack=strength


So decide what type of dueller you want to be.


So you decide to be a defence pure the items you will need will be:
Armour= iron ?¨C rune
Weapons = iron ?¨C rune
Amulets= you choice but I recommend diamond, dragon or the gnome amulet.
Money= I recommend having 1mill in coins at all time so if you lose something then you can buy it back.


So you have all of your items. Now its time to train. I recommend you set yourself small goals. Like 10 str 20 att and 30 def. You will be around 20 combat. So now you go to lumbridge on world 8 and look for someone around your lvl. Make sure you are wearing full iron and not your addy because then people will not want to duel you. Find your victim and tell him/her to follow you. Go somewhere were there is less talking so you can offer them you stake. Example of this conversation.

You: Stake ammys

You: just weapons on

You send duel offer stake ammys whatever they are. As soon as you agree on the second screen put your cursor over the inventory. It will say commencing duel and you will walk toward each other. Put on your full addy now. He wont hit you and you will hit him. You win duel. The opponent might come back saying that he will report you for trade scam. This is not a scam. He accepted the duel so if he loses he cant complain. Do this for a while until you get bored.
Now train some more. I say go for around these stats. Att 40 Def 50 Str 30. At this stage you can now start staking rune things J yay. So you have the stats . this time duelling requires something known as a super set. Buy 2 of these. Now in your full iron still go to lumbridge and find another victim. Tell them to follow you and tell them your offer. Example of this conversation.

You: stake me rune 2hs

Take 1 dose out of each potion. Get duel screen up and agree on terms. Now put on your rune as quick as you can. It is pretty much impossible for him to hit you with 40 att so will most likely win( this is not a certainty). Hopefully you win 5 rune 2h duels now goe sell 1 and buy 2 more super sets do this until bored. Keep doing this training then duelling until you get to a lvl where you bring in full rune stakes and party hats and other cool stuff. Then just duel. Or get another lvl up during the week and as a reward to yourself DUEL!!!


So you have decided to be a tank mage. Items you will need are:
Armour iron ?¨C rune
Weapons: well mages don?¡¯t really use weapons so I recommend having 1 of each battlestaff. Air water earth and fire.
Runes: ok here is the most expensive part of this character. If you calculate it getting to 80 magic takes 49k of fire strikes!!! That is the cheapest way of getting to 80 magic. You can buy these runes from the wildy store buy the mage arena. The most expensive mind runes get is 20gp. This will take a lot of time to buy 49k of them though. I recommend looking for a seller of mind runes on forums. You can sometimes find people selling them in bulk. Air runes do the same. Fire runes you wont need because you will have you fire battlestaff. Yay. Now go to the wizards tower and age the lesser demon. You might even get a rune med.do the mage arena mini quest to get your staff. Choose anyone you want but as above I recommend he guthix staff because it lowers defence. The others sardorim and zamorak also lower other things. Sardorim lowers magic, which isn?¡¯t very useful unless you?¡¯re fighting another mage, which you should never do. Heres is the biggest obstacle. Defence is hard to get up if you have no att or str. If you want you can cast fire strike will you are training and et magic and defence up at the same time. Once you get 80 mage and around 60 defence go to draynor buy a super set and start duelling. Find someone around lvl 60 to start and ask him to stake you. You might get him to stake full rune. Make sure your magic scroll is down to the spell you are going to use. Make sure you are in full rune with kite and you arena staff and cape. Charge your spell and drink a defence potion. Start duel and start casting your spells. Make sure you duel where this is not so many people around because they might stand on top of your opponent making it difficult for you to cast a spell. You will most likely win a lot of duels from *beep* pures. Make sure if you stake over lvl 70s they start low and have prayer off.

So you have decided to be a balanced staker. Be prepared to spend lots of time with this pure. You will need everything that the defence pure has. These pures don?¡¯t get good until like lvl 70+ because if u have 50 defence then a defence pure will have 60. if it has 50 att then the att pure will have 60 att and so on. So when you get to maybe 70+ everything then you become good. Try getting to 50 everything in 1 long slog. So you have gotten the stats well what are you waiting for start duelling.

My Stat tips


There are some numbers in runescape known as the glitch numbers. These numbers are where jagex went wrong and made certain numbers better than others. Lets take attack for an example. If you have 60 att and you fight someone with 56 att the player with 56 att will hit more often than you. There are some other numbers that hit more often here a some of them.
Att
52,54,56,62,66,76 and 86
Def these numbers are harder to hit than some of the others.
41,42,51,52,61,62,71,72,81,81,91,92
Str doesn?¡¯t have a glitch number that makes you hit higher.

My Dueling Tips


Hiding is not cheating so do it whenever necessary.
Study your opponent. Don?¡¯t rush in to a duel find a person and follow them around for a while see how high they hit, how often they hit and perhaps most important how often they get hit. Always pot. Not always super pot. Only super pot if the thing you are staking is worth more than the super set. If it is below use a normal set and you will most likely win. Don?¡¯t be afraid to walk away from a duel. If you are suspicious about how truthful a person is then walk away.
Always try and get your terms. If a person says no prayer because they don?¡¯t have it tell them that you got prayer and they got more combat lvls like more str or defense or att so they have just as much of an advantage.
