How to get Waterbirth Island Armour:
To get your new armour, you must be a Fremennik (requires "The Fremennik Trials" quest). There are different people placed around Rellekka, who will make the different types. The items needed are dropped by the monsters in the Waterbirth Island dungeon. To get past the doors in to the secondary caves you need to have a companion with you. Stand on the pressure pads and Voila! Open Sesame.
Dagannoth hides are the base for all armours; you'll need six hides for a complete set of one type. Regular hides are dropped by Dagannoths (lvl 90) and Dagannoth kings (Rex, Prime and Supreme).
Level 90 Dagannoths are located all around the main cave area (you don't need a partner to access this area) and are the first monsters you'll encounter when you enter. They attack hard with melee and are weak against stabbing attacks.
To complete your armour set, you need to obtain specific pieces for the top, bottom, and helmet. Gloves and boots are dropped whole. The armour pieces are fairly rare drops, so expect to be there a while for a complete set. After obtaining all required components take them and some gold (22,500 gp for a complete set - no gloves or boots) to certain NPCs around Relleka.

Rock Armour (Melee):
Giant Rockcrabs drop rock-shell chunks, shards and splinters, as well as complete boots and gloves. They are located in the northern secondary cave. They are weak against mage attacks, and possibly weak against crushing melee attacks (VERY high defense against range, slash, and stab). There is a hiding place for mages way in the back of the cave near the entrance to the high-level dungeon. Suggested tactic is to wear melee armour (or use protect from melee prayer) and run to the back of the cave and hide. Then put on your best mage armour or robes and attack from shelter. Skeletal armour is good for its relatively high mage attack and melee defense bonuses. After they stop being aggressive, you have to run to a different part of the cave, then back to your hiding place so you can attack them again.
Required level to wear: 40 defence

Skeletal Armour (Mage):
Wallasalkis drop ribcage, fibula, and skull bone pieces, as well as complete boots and gloves. They are located in the middle secondary cave. They attack with high-level magic (max hit around 28) and are weak against range attacks. Suggested equipment includes your best dragon hide armour, archer helm, god-cape, elemental shield, and darts or crossbow. It works just as well with a good bow (preferably magic) and arrows (mithril or better). Be sure to bring prayer potions and use protect from magic.
They tend to retreat very early, so when you first get there it's hard to kill one because it'll retreat and a second one will start attacking. Then the second one retreats and a third attacks, etc. There is a very limited area of multi-attack near the high-level dungeon entrance which helps. Once you've been there long enough for them to stop being aggressive, you can turn off your prayer and range them from afar.
Required level to wear: 40 magic

Spined Armour (Range):
Dagannoths (level 88) drop flattened, stretched, and circular hides, as well as complete boots and gloves. They are located in the southern secondary cave, but can sometimes be found outside the most southern gate too. They use fast and powerful range attacks. They tend to retreat after about 75% hp loss. Then another Dagannoth attacks. Best way to have a chance of killing one is to corner it and use a special attack as the final blow. Suggested armour and weapon would be full rune, warrior or berserker helm, armoured boots, Obsidian cape and fast dragon weapons or better. Melee Barrows would be even better. Protect against range is strongly recommended.
There's a multi-combat area deeper into the cave where several of the Dagannoths live. Be sure to stay alert!
Required level to wear: 40 range

Armour crafters

Sigli is located at the entrance to Rellekka. Once you have the required items in your backpack, go to him to ask about the Waterbirth Island armour. He offers to make Spined armour for you. Choose the item you want to buy and he will make it for a fairly low price.

Peer the Seer is located south of the fishmarket, outside the puzzle room. With the required items in your backpack, start up a conversation with him and you'll get the option to ask about Waterbirth Island armour. He offers to make Skeletal armour. Choose the item you want to buy and he will make it for a fairly low price.

Skulgrimen is located in the helmet shop slightly north east of the fishmarket. Once you have the required items in your backpack all you have to do is start up a conversation with him and you'll get the option to ask about Waterbirth Island armour. He offers to make Rockshell armour. Choose the item you want to buy and he will make it for a fairly low price.

- In the back of the secondary caves ,you will find propped doors in the multi combat area. To pass these, you need to destroy the props with either magic or range. There is a ladder behind the doors which leads up to the surface (where Askeladden will buy kegs of beer from you) or down to sub-level 2.
But that's a whole other chapter which doesn't relate to armour making. - If you decide to fight the Dagannoth Rex, Prime, and Supreme, you may also get armour parts such as bodies and leggings. Go to the Drop Percentage Report for more information.
