Holiday Rares:

Holiday Rares are items that were dropped on holidays to give the RuneScape players a bit of a reward for playing. Jagex made some of the later holiday items untradeable due to the fact that players were collecting lots of them, and selling them to make lots of cash fast. After many players complained to Jagex about not being able to get ahold of these drops. Jagex also has extended recent holiday drop periods to two weeks. Below is a list of the holiday items that have been dropped in the past and a bit of information about each.

Dragon Rares:

Dragon Rares are quite rare because they are only dropped from the strongest monsters in the runescape world. They can sell for millions on the runescape market. Square Halves are dropped by monsters that drop gems (the other half must be purchased at the Legends Guild shop for 750k). Medium Helmets are dropped by Fire Giants, Black Demons, Black Dragons, and King Black Dragons. Spears are dropped by Fire Giants, and various other high level creatures. Chainbody is dropped by the Kalphite Queen and Dustdevils. Platelegs are dropped by Steel dragons, Iron dragons, and Bronze dragons (odds are said to be: Steel = 1 in 50 chance; Iron = 1 in 75 chance; Bronze = 1 in 100 chance.) Below is a table with all the dragon rares.

Treasure Trail Rares:

Treasure Trail Rares are the newest form of rares in the RuneScape world. They are obtained by completing higher level Treasure Trails and even then you have a low chance to find one. Some of them are for looks, while others benefit skills such as range or magic. Please visit our Treasure Trails Guide for a list of these rewards.

Other Rares:

There are few items that do not fit into the above categories, but are still considered rare. Most of these items were discontinued or changed, so only a small amount remain in the game. The only way to obtain them is to pay high prices to other players, and once they are gone, they are gone forever.
