Basic Skills and Equipment
Green Dragons
Blue Dragons
Red Dragons
Black Dragons
Introduction
Dragons are the wave of the future in Runescape. A level 82 Lesser Demon may drop the occasional rune medium helm, but a weaker Green Dragon drops bones, dragonhide *and* loot, too! Dragons are also incredibly varied, from the weak Green Dragons to the fearsome Blacks. This Guide will detail how to kill them effectively.
Basic Skills and Equipment
Dragons hit moderately on melee. Their main weapon is their fire breath, which can hit over 47 damage if you aren't properly prepared! After starting or completing the Dragon Slayer Quest, one can go to Duke Horacio in Lumbridge Castle for a free Antifire shield, which effectively protects you from dragon breath.
Another protective measure is an Anti-fire Potion, which works like the shield and can be made at Herblore level 69 (see Herblore Skill Guide).
One should also bring good a weapon and armor. I personally bring full rune with an Anti fire shield and a Dragon or Rune weapon to kill dragons. Also bring a lot of good food.
A person's pack inventory should be:
- 2 or 3 spaces for teleportation runes
- A nearly full inventory of at least lobsters (leave 1 or 2 empty spaces as the hides do fill you up quickly!).
Also, if you are going to range, halberd, or mage dragons, wear the Antifire shield until you are in your spot, to be safe.
Green Dragons

Introduction
Green Dragons are level 79 monsters that live in the Wilderness. Many people kill these creatures for their drops which include both Green dragon hides (worth up to 1.7k) and Dragon bones (worth up to 2.1k). Prices are prone to change. The bones are also great prayer experience. You can find Green Dragons just northwest of Edgeville in level 11 Wilderness, directly west of the Dark Knight Fortress.
Green Dragons are the weakest of the adult dragons, but they can still do quite a bit of damage so it is recommended that people with combat levels lower that 65 not attempt to kill them.
Since Green Dragons are in the Wilderness, you need to consider how much you're willing to risk. These spots are usually overrun with Revenants, and you really need to keep your eye out for them. These vicious ghosts can freeze, teleblock, use range, melee, and magic, and even steal your kill right out from under you! You also MUST bring an Anti-dragon shield or the dragons will hit almost constant 30+ damage.

Transportation
Below is a map of all the places that you can find Green Dragons and the routes to them.
There are numerous methods for getting to and from the green dragons. The three most popular ways will be described below.
Method 1 - Cheapest Method: This method has no prerequisites and is the cheapest way. You start off in Edgeville where you bank and get your items. Then you just walk up to the dragons. When you have filled your inventory, just walk back to Edgeville.
Method 2 - Teleporting Method (Regular): In this method you start in Falador/Varrock/Edgeville. Make sure that you take Teleport Runes or Charged Glory to get back from the Dragons to Falador/Varrock/Edgeville. Then walk up to the dragons. When you are done, use the Teleport of your choice, bank, and repeat. This method is the most efficient.
Method 3 - Teleporting Method (Ancients): If you have completed Desert Treasure, and are on the Ancient Magic spell book, you can use Dareeyak Teleport (72 Magic) Or Carrallangar (84 Magic) to get to the wilderness to teleport you near Dragon locations (See map for Teleport Locations). From there, either teleport to Padewwa Teleport (Edgeville Sewers near bank) / use a Charged Glory to Edgeville, or you can simply walk back to Edgeville, and then bank. This method is VERY FAST if you use Teleports back and forth. Though, this method costs more money (Buying Law And Soul Runes) and needs high enough Magic. But if you have done Desert Treasure and Have 72/84 Magic, this is the best method. The Green Dragonhides and Dragon Bones (If you're selling them) make up for the little that is spent on runes per trip.
Revenants
So, those darn Revenants are attacking you? Now you're probably saying, "Why didn't I bring a teleport???", don't forget your Amulet of Glory. While the Dragon is attacking you, turn off your Auto-Retaliate, Keep right clicking your glory and attempting to Teleport to Edgeville, do this until you Teleport, your now in Edgeville. If it's been 10 seconds since the Revenant has last attacked you, my suggestion is to log out and world hop.
Teleblocked
So the Revenants Teleblocked you. Well the best way to get away from this is to run like crazy towards the ditch. Don't stop for anything. Hopefully, the level difference will save you when you get closer to the Wilderness exit, and you're free to either leave the Wilderness and stock up some more, or walk right on back to your spot and continue your kill.
Avoiding Revenants
Revenants are a major nuisance for Green Dragon slayers, and they help make Dragon bones more valuable than normal, so you have to live with them. First off, always take a Teleport no matter what transportation method you are using. Camelot Teleport is recommended if you would not already be taking a teleport because it is only two slots instead of one. If you think that you are good enough to fight off these Revenants (I don't reccomend this, as they have horrible drops and are hard to kill), then go ahead and take your Dragon Dagger P++ and have it ready to pull out and use it's special on them. Most of these Revenants are incredibly high levels, and can outmatch even the greatest players. Even the humble Revenant imp may take the high level into a fight for their life.
Blue Dragons

Blue Dragons are the next in the chain. They are level 111, so I suggest being at least 75 combat with GOOD food before attempting to get at these guys. The best place to kill blue dragons is Taverley Dungeon. You need a Dusty Key (found in the dungeon, see Hero's Quest under Lava Eel for complete details) to get to the Dragons themselves. Once inside their lair, run past the group of Baby blue dragons to the circle-like area of eggs. There are some good maging/ranging spots in this area.
Unfortunately, there are only a few Halberd-friendly spots here. The best place to range, mage or hally Blue dragons is in the Basement of the Hero's Guild. Have fun killing these Dragons and teleport when your out of food or full. Also watch out for the Baby blue dragons, they are level 48 and incredibly annoying to the dragon killers there.
Another spot is in the Gu'Tanoth Dungeon (Under the Ogre City south of Yanille). To enter you must have atleast started the Watchtower Quest Untill a certain point where you enter the dungeon. To enter the dungeon after the quest simply click on the cave entrace and the guards will look at you suspiciously this will distract the guard while they're thinking about who you are which gives you time to sneak inside. Once inside you will see many different creatures, rule 1 is to never attack or talk to Ogre Shamans! this will couse around 20-30 damage. When exploring the dungeon you will see many good places from where on you can range or melee the Dragons. If your using a Halberd (dragon is recommended, other lower types won't do a lot of damage) it is suggested to stand on the west side of the dungeon, where there are two dragons, this is an excellent place to kill them using this type of weapon
On the map below you will see the dungeon and some Blue Dragons which are marked, 1 dot doesn't mean there is 1 dragon there, 1 dot CAN represent 2 dragons or more, it varies as they walk around.

Red Dragons

Red dragons are found only in 2 places: High level Wilderness and the Karamja Dungeon. They are level 152, so BE PREPARED! Have a combat level of at least 80 and bring at least full swordfish for food, otherwise you'll be wasting your time. The best (and pretty much only way) to kill red dragons is melee, as both of their lairs lack good spots for Hallying, ranging or maging. The best place to kill them is in the Karamja Dragon Dungeon (southwest of Brimhaven), as the Wilderness is way too much of a risk. In the Karamja Dragon Dungeon, you must go through several tunnels and caverns. There are two ways into the Red Dragon area, by squeezing through a pipe or going over a log (30 agility required). Once inside, fight Reds to your heart's content, and watch out for the level 65 Baby red dragons.
Black Dragons

Black Dragons are the toughest of the normal dragons. They are a whopping level 227, so be at least level 90 before trying to take them out. Black Dragons can be found at the tunnel at the end of the Lava Maze in the Wilderness, but, like Red Dragons, it is nowhere near safe or profitable to kill them there. The best place is in Taverley Dungeon. You must go past the Blue Dragons, Black Demons, Poison Spiders and Monks of Zamorak to get to them. There is only one good Range or Mage spot here. It's close to the Obelisk, just stand 1 step from the passage. If you get it just right the dragon will be too big to attack you there. Additionally, if you have completed the Sir Amik Varze subquest of the Recipe for Disaster quest, you can find some black dragons in the Evil Chicken's Lair.
