Gender and Skin Colour

Shop location: South-west of Falador, near the Members' Gate.
Shop owner: Make-over Mage.
Fee: 3000 coins.
Members Only: No.
Requirements: None.

Tired of your gender? Always wanted to change your skin colour without lying in the sun for days? Bought a dragon plateskirt because it is cheaper? Then the Make-over Mage can help you! To get to him, go to the south entrance of Falador, and then go west along the wall, until you reach the Make-over Mage's house! Members can make use of the shortcuts which go through or underneath the wall, provided they have the required Agility level. Talk to him and accept on a make-over. He'll talk for a bit and then an interface pops up.

Skin and Gender

This is where you can choose your gender and skin colour. You won't be able to preview your appearance after the make-over, but why would you anyway? If you don't like the look of your character you'll have to knock on Thessalia's and the Hairdresser's doors.
Once you're content about your choice click "Confirm" to confirm your choice. Now hope his spell works out well and you don't turn into a frog or something...

Torso, Legs, and Arms

Shop location: Centre of Varrock.
Shop owner: Thessalia.
Fee: 1000 coins.
Members Only: No.
Requirements: You must not wear any equipment.

To change your daily outfit, you'll have to go to Thessalia's Clothing Shop in the centre of Varrock. There are no requirements to get to this place, but you must not wear anything in order to use the interface. To change your clothes, right click Thessalia and click "Change-clothes". Wait for a clothing cabin to pop up and then you'll see the interface.

Torso, Legs, and Arms

You can change your shirt, pants and sleeves here. You are on the shirt interface on default. To access the pants and sleeves interface, click on the faded icons in the top left corner. You can choose from a variety of shirts, legs and sleeves. There is also quite a number of colours to choose from! Just click the colour on the right to change the colour of the selected clothing. Of course, women have some different clothes to choose from, so take your pick!
If you're content about your new outfit, click the thumb in the bottom right corner to confirm your choice. Changing your legs or shirt costs 500 coins, changing both costs 1000 coins.Congratulations! You just have changed your daily outfit! Just watch out you don't fall into the mud any more.

Haircuts

Shop location: West part of Falador.
Shop owner: Hairdresser.
Fee: 2000 coins.
Members Only: No.
Requirements: You must not wear any headgear.

If you fancy a haircut, you can go to the Hairdresser in the west part of Falador, north of the bank. There are no requirements to get there, but you must not wear any headgear, otherwise he can't see your hair, silly! To take a haircut, right-click his name and choose "Hair-cut". Wait for a clothing cabin to pop up and then you'll see the interface.

Haircuts

You can choose from a variety of haircuts here, from being bald to having curtains! There are also 25 colours to pick from! Of course, women have different types of hairs they can choose from, ponytails for example. For the manly readers, there is an option to change your facial hair too! Just click on the faded moustache-like picture in the top left corner of the screen, and voila! A whole new selection of beards and moustaches to choose from! To remove your beard, choose the 'Clean Shaven' style.
Once you're happy with your hair, click the thumb in the bottom right corner of the screen to confirm your choice. This will cost you 2000 coins. As manly hair is much easier to cut than womanly hair, the hairdresser will not ask an extra charge for the beard.

Armguards

Shop location: North-east part of Keldagrim.
Shop owner: Reinald.
Fee: 500 coins.
Members Only: Yes.
Requirements: You must have started the Giant Dwarf.

To change your armguards, you'll have to pay a visit to Reinald in the great city of Keldagrim! Keldagrim is an underground dwarven city. If you have already visited Keldagrim earlier, you can either take the old fashioned way from Rellekka, or you could take the Mine Carts from the White Wolf Mountain or the Ice Mountain. If it's your first visit, please check the Giant Dwarf Quest Guide on how to get there.
Reinald's house is located in the north-east of Keldagrim. Once you get there, you can talk to him about the armguards, or simply right click his name and choose "change-armguards". Now you'll get a nice interface where you can change your armguards.

Armguards

You can choose between two metals: silver and gold. You will access the silver metals on default. To change to gold metals, click on the faded armguard picture in the top left corner of the screen. All types of armguards are available in both silver and gold. You can also choose to have no armguards. To do this, choose the first option (bare arms).
Once you've made your choice, click on the thumb in the bottom right corner to confirm. There you go, two new armguards on your arms! Enjoy!

Boots

Shop location: West part of Rellekka, the Fremennik City.
Shop owner: Yrsa.
Fee: 500 coins.
Members Only: Yes.
Requirements: You must have completed the Fremennik Trials.

To get to Yrsa, you must have completed the Fremennik Trials. If you haven't, Yrsa will refuse to serve you as you're not a Fremennik. Yrsa can be found in the west of the city, just west of the market. Talk to her and ask her to change your basic boots. An interface will pop up.

Boots

This is where you can choose the colour of your boots. Unfortunately you won't be able to check your appearance before you confirm.
Once you've chosen a nice pair of boots, click them and hit 'confirm'. You've now bought a pair of boots for 500 coins, congratulations! (Wow, that's quite a bunch of money for just a pair of boots.)

Other means of changing appearances

Did you know that you can change your base appearance for free too? If you build a bedroom in your Player Owned House, you'll be able to construct items which allow you to change your basic clothes for no charge. You can build objects like the shoe box, the shaving stand and the oak dresser. These allow you to change your base appearance to your likes. Also, if you have, for example, a high level shaving stand, you'll be able to choose from more beards! This goes for nearly all appearance-changing objects in your bedroom. Why not take a look at the bedroom section in our Construction guide?

Options

Of course, you don't have to walk around in your basic clothes. You can put on several armour and clothing combinations to change your appearance. Several random events give clothes as a reward, and after the completion of certain quests, you'll be able to wear much more clothes! There are so many combinations possible, why not buy a few and try them out?

Did you also know that you can store a lot of clothing pieces and armour in the Costume Room in your Player Owned House? If you have 42 Construction, you'll be able to build a Costume Room for 50,000 coins. In this room you can build several objects in which you can store full sets of armour and clothing. The higher your Construction skill, the better objects you can build and the more costume sets you can store in them! You are also able to change your clothing in the Costume Room by just using these objects.
In other words: This is a very useful way of storing your armour and costume sets! It'll save you quite some bank space and you've got easy access to your equipment.

So, you've changed your appearance, are you happy now? I hope so. It doesn't matter if others don't like your appearance, it does matter if you don't like your appearance. I myself ended up with a beige shirt and beige pants. My boots were black and my armguards were... pretty! Either way, I hope you've enjoyed this guide, or at least found it useful. If you did, I hope you like your new appearance! Happy RuneScaping!

Thank You
