1. Introduction

What is chain farming?
Chain farming is what I call, when a person wants to farm non-stop moving around runescape to the 4 allotments.
It is best to pay the farmers to watch your crops, then later on go around to all 4 allotments collecting all your goods and also getting loads of experience.

2. Items needed

What to wear:
Glory Amulet (4)
Air Battle/Staff
Boots of Lightness (optional)
And anything else but keep the carried weight down.

Inventory:
Ectophial - To teleport near the Mort Myre allotment (must have completed Ghosts Ahoy Quest ).
2 Full watering cans (fill at nearby water sources when necessary).
10,000GP (just incase you need to buy anything from a farming store).
100 Law runes
Seeds for what you want to grow
Spade
Rake
Seed dibber
Noted payments for farmers (see section 5 for the payment items).
4 buckets of normal compost for flowers.
8 buckets of super compost or normal compost, depends on what your growing.
NOTE: Only use super compost for growing sweetcorn, strawberries or watermelons! (If you dont have super compost then use normal, but it's best).

3. What to do

Once you have the items listed above use your glory amulet to teleport to draynor village (if you are not already there). Now walk to the farming allotments north of the big cabbage patch.

Draynor to Falador Patch

Weed the patch, use compost (if you want, this is not a must but highly recommended for experience and increased crops), plant the seeds and water the patches, then talk to the local gardener and pay him to watch them, dont forget to plant your flowers for exp and water them.

When your done here, if you need to get more compost or gardener payments (this shouldnt be a problem as you can note these) walk back to draynor bank and get them out, then use your ectophial. Refill it and then walk west from the Ectofuntus past the undead animals till you get to the farming allotment, do the same as you did in the first allotment.

Ecto Patch

When your done here teleport to camelot and walk south-east to catherby bank, get gardener payments and compost if you need more and walk north from the bank to the allotments, do whats needed here, go back to the bank and restock on gardener payments if needed.

Then run to the Ardougne allotments using this map, it may seem like a long way, but trust me it isnt if you run.

Catherby to Adrougne Patch

Once you get here, do what you need to do and you're done!

Wait an hour or two. Or forget about it forever like i have several times and you will have 4 allotments of goodies!
But remember, the big loads of experience come from picking all your crops.

4. Collecting your crops

I have found that it is easiest to collect all your crops before you start planting again at Draynor, just take the same route explained in section 3 starting from Draynor and finishing at Ardougne patches, the items you will need for doing this are:
Glory amulet and Air staff
Ectophial
10000 gp (if u need to buy items at a farming store in your little run).
100 law runes (for camelot teleports).
Spade, Rake and Seed dibber
5-10 baskets OR veggie sacks (depends on what your growing).

5. Gardener payments list

This tells you what to take along with the items in section 2 to pay the gardeners to look after your crops.
NOTE: These items can be given to the gardeners noted.

What you're growing Payment*
Potatoes 2 Buckets of compost
Onions 1 Sack of Potatoes (Can be picked prior or you can farm them yourself)
Cabbage 1 Sack of Onions (Can be picked prior near melzars maze or you can farm them yourself)
Tomatoes 2 Sacks of Cabbage (Can be picked prior or you can farm them yourself)
Sweetcorn 10 Jute fibres
Strawberries 1 Basket of apples (Can be found in cooking guild or farmed yourself)
Watermelons 10 Curry leaves

* NOTE: All payments are per patch!

6. Helpful tips

If you dont know what flowers to grow, marigolds are best, if you use normal compost to grow them and water them once, they almost always grow fully by themselves.

This guide does NOT suggest growing herbs in this process, they CAN die if you leave them, i wont be responsable for this, feel free to try if you want though.

If you want the maximun experience and crops possible from all your plants and not just the high level ones, you can use super compost on all your crops, this way will take much longer than normal as you will have to wait for the compost to rot (around 1 hour. Unless you buy it from other players. You can still do normal rounds while waiting for your super compost to rot.

This is a guide to get you started so you know the basics of chain farming, there ARE other ways to do this process like not paying the farmers, I don't know how this is done, leave that to your imagination.

Super compost can be made a few simple ways:
  1. Collecting pinapples near the entrence to brimhaven dungeon, there are about 5 plants around the area.
  2. Collecting jangerberrys from an island east of castle wars, go south across the bridge then east, you need a rope to get over the water (take a ring of dueling for quicker banking).
  3. Growing watermelons.

Remember to keep what you grow, this can save you picking the gardener payments later on!
