Introduction

Canoes are a marvellous -members only- opportunity to save on shoe leather! Look for a transportation icon on your minimap at key points along the River Lum, and near to it you'll spot a canoe tree. This remarkable species will allow you to carve your own canoe to get you from A to B in style. When you completed your journey, the canoe will sink into the water.

You'll need at least level 12 in woodcutting to make a basic canoe. As your woodcutting level increases, you'll be able to make better canoes which can travel further. Expert woodcutters can even create a canoe so reliable that you can safely navigate underground portions of the River Lum for a one-way trip straight into level 35 Wilderness itself! Canoe locations include Lumbridge, the Champions' Guild, the Barbarian Village and Edgeville.

How to make a Canoe

A Canoe isn't hard to make. All you have to do is use a woodaxe (hatchet) on the special Canoe-tree that grows at every Canoe Station. Just click on the tree for every further step. This way you will select the wanted canoe, cut the tree into a canoe, float the canoe, and select the Canoe Station you want to travel to.

Types of Canoes

There are four types of canoes. When you make them you get woodcutting experience. A log can travel 1 place further along the river, a Dugout 2 places, and a Stable Dugout 3 places. A Waka can carry you 4 places along the river, all the way from Lumbridge to level 35 Wilderness.

Canoe Stations

All Canoe Stations are located on the east river bank of the river Lum. You can travel north or south just by clicking on the desired station. The better the canoe, the further you can travel. The easiest ways to get to the canoes are Edgeville teleport (with glory ammy) or Lumbridge teleport.

If you have any questions about making Canoes, you can always ask the NPC's that guard the stations. They also give a nice chat when you ask them who they are.

Be aware that there is no canoe tree at the Wilderness. But you can almost be sure that there are (lots of) people who are happy to welcome you!
