RuneScape Cheats:Path of Glouphrie, The

Description: King Bolren has a new pet. Unfortunately, it's another watcher, like the ones unmasked in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Has Glouphrie been watching the Tree Gnome Village, too?

If you investigate further you'll find out more about Glouphrie, the history of the gnomes (and their unusual monarchy) and maybe you'll get within a hair's breadth of the lost city of Arposandra...

Difficulty: Experienced

Length: Medium

Requirements: Levels:
45 Agility
47 Ranged
56 Slayer
56 Thieving
60 Strength
Quests:
Waterfall Quest
The Eyes of Glouphrie

Items Needed: Watch, Sextant, Chart, Mith grapple, and Crystal saw. Good food and armor are recommended for the battle, and a Ring of dueling is also recommended for a teleport to Castle Wars or Fairy Rings to teleport closer to the grappling tree. Ardougne teleport runes (4 Water, 4 Law) or Varrock teleport runes (6 Air, 2 Fire, 2 Law) are recommended for the spirit tree shortcuts to the village.

Quest Points Reward: 1

Reward: 5k Magic XP, 30k Strength XP, 20k Slayer XP, 5k Thieving XP, and access to a new Slayer dungeon.

Start Point: Tree Gnome Village

To Start: Speak to King Bolren

  1. Speak to King Bolren. After unsuccessfully trying to convince him that his little pet Dumpling isn't as cute and fluffy as it appears, you will be asked to try and locate another Anti-Illusion Device.

    Start

  2. Squeeze through the loose railing to the southwest then head east to the ladder. Climb down it and then take the west route to Golrie. Speak with him about the Anti-Illusion Device.

    Railing

  3. Golrie will tell you about his Grandfather's love of collecting Elven artifacts, and how he used to send him souvenirs, which he keeps in a strongroom on the other side of the cave.

    Golrie

  4. Head back to the ladder and then follow the path to the east. Crawl through the tunnel and then push the big monolith to proceed further into the strongroom.

    Push

  5. Search the chest to receive three crystal shapes, then proceed to the next set of monoliths.

    Chest

  6. In the second monolith area, push the big monolith on the left one space to the north and then push the big monolith above it one space to the east. Search the two chests in the area to the north to get the key, Yewnock's notes, and some crystal shapes.

    Chests

  7. Next push the small monolith one space to the south, and then push the big monolith to it's left one space west. Use your key on the mahogany chest to receive the strongroom key.

    Mahog

Use the singing bowl to revert your crystal saw to a seed, then "sing" the bowl to get a crystal chime.

    Chime

  8. Push the southeast big monolith one space to the west, then go to the gate amd use the key on it. You'll enter the area that contains Yewnock's Anti-Illusion device. The lectern in the corner containing Bolrie's diary shows cut-scenes giving more background information about the Gnomish kingdom.

    Lectern

  9. The machine operates similarly to Oaknock's machine from The Eyes of Glouphrie Quest and differs for each player. Each color and shape represent a number (shown in the table below). You can use the exchanger on the right side of the machine to change the shapes you are given to the ones you need. A good strategy is to exchange your pieces for smaller values, then exchange those back for the larger values you need.

    Crystal Color Number Values
    Circle Triangle Square Pentagon
    Red 1 3 4 5
    Orange 2 6 8 10
    Yellow 3 9 12 15
    Green 4 12 16 20
    Blue 5 15 20 25
    Indigo 6 18 24 30
    Violet 7 21 28 35

    Machine

  10. Once you have the machine working, a cut-scene showing Dumpling's de-masking will follow, and King Bolren will admit that you were right. Return to speak to him in the Tree Gnome Village.

  11. Kill the not-so-innocent creature and speak to King Bolren. He will tell you that one of his citizens, Longramble, went looking for the hidden city of Arposandra. Although he has no idea where Longramble or the city is, he tells you that Aluft Gianne Jr. in the Gnome Stronghold might.

  12. Aluft Gianne Jr. is on the west side of The Grand Tree. Talk to him and he will tell you that he has a long-standing order for Longramble, and that all the gnomes he has sent have not returned. He will tell you the co-ordinates of his whereabouts, which are 2 degrees, 7 minutes south; 3 degrees, 7 minutes west.

    Junior

  13. Teleport to Castle Wars. Bring a/your Crossbow and Grapple, crystal chime, food, armor and optional prayer potions/super restore potions, and head southwest past the two bridges. Head west until you see a tree you can grapple to. Use your Crossbow and Grapple to get across.

    Grapple

  14. Speak to Longramble and he will tell you that he has discovered a waste outlet that he believes is coming from Arposandra.

    Longramble

  15. Go north and you will see a spirit tree. Talk to it and you will find out that it is spiritually poisoned. Hazelmere will tell you that you need to perform a elven chant in order to cleanse the tree.

    Sick

Ring the chime, which will cleanse the tree and allow its teleport abilities to be used.
Additionally, you will now be able to enter the sewer.

    Tree

  16. Enter the sewer to the west and follow it for as far as you can go. At the end there will be an area that you can go four directions in, go east. In the room you will find three level 143 Warped terrorbirds to fight. Go in and use the chime on them to make them vulnerable, then kill them. Please note that the chime only lasts about 30 seconds, then you have to use it on the Warped terrorbirds again. The protect from ranged prayer is recommended.
Note: You cannot teleport out of this room.

    Fight

  17. After they are killed, peak through the gate to see some terrorbirds talking. You will be discovered, and Hazelmere will have to come save you. Once he does, talk to him to learn about the future, and to finish the quest.

    Saved

    Congratulations! Quest Complete!

    Quest Complete!

The Crystal Chimes should be kept after the quest as Warped Tortoises and Warped Terrorbirds are slayer monsters and can not be killed without use of the chimes.

If you wish to still use the small crystal seed as a saw, you can return to Brimstails cave (Tree Gnome Stronghold) and use the singing bowl there to revert the chimes to a seed and charm back into a saw. To change back into chimes however, you must use the singing bowl in Golrie's cave (Tree Gnome Village). If you lose/drop your Crystal saw, Crystal chimes or Small crystal seed, Brimstail will return it to you in the form of the Small crystal seed.
