Description: As ever, there are strange occurrences afoot in the sea slug-riddled town of Witchaven. Kennith, the child rescued at the end of the Sea Slug quest, is convinced that the usually peaceful (albeit gastropod-possessed) locals are up to no good in the caverns under the village and asks players to investigate. Beware: not everything is quite what it seems.

Reward: 12k Mining XP, 5k Agility XP, access to the mines under Witchaven, the ability to mine and sell a new type of ore (Rubium), and access to a repeatable mini-task.

Start Point: Kennith's house in Witchaven

To Start: Speak to Kennith

Instructions:

  1. After you speak to Kennith he will ask you to investigate new villager activity in the shrine below Witchhaven.

  2. Head a little west to where the exclamation point is on the minimap, then climb down the old ruin entrance.

  3. Once down, climb through the nearby wall opening.

  4. Walk along the twisty tunnel until you see two villagers guarding an entrance. Try to enter it, and they will not let you.

  5. Return to the surface and talk to Kennith again. He seems to be more concerned about his parents than the strange activities of the residents of Witchaven.

  6. Find Kent and his wife a little east of the church and talk to them. Kent will slip you a note that tells you to meet him outside the gate to the Legends Guild.

  7. Speak to Kent at the Legends Guild and he will ask you to check on Kennith's friend, Kimberly, who lives just a little south of the Legends Guild.

  8. Talk to Kimberly and a cut scene will begin. Four villagers want to get Kimberly, so it is your job to lead them to the church and lock them up. Go outside and get them all to follow you, then run south to the church, closing the door once they are all inside. Then return to Kimberly.

  9. Kimberly will tell you to follow her to Kennith's house. Once there speak with him to trigger another cut scene. More villagers will try to get into the house, and you must lock them in the church again. Then return to Kimberly.

  10. Talk to her and she will take you to Ezekial Lovecraft in the fishing shop on the eastern side of the village. He will tell you that he can get you into the guarded entrance under the shrine.

  11. Make sure that you have a pickaxe and some runes to teleport to Ardougne, then head back down the old ruined entrance. Go through the cave until you reach Exekial and the two villagers.

  12. Speak to Ezekial and he will tell you to talk to the villagers. Talk to them and you will be allowed inside.

    NOTE: If you log out in steps 12 through the first half of step 17, thus all the mine, and log back in you will find yourself booted out to next to the wall crevice, inside the main dungeon with the hobgoblins.

  13. Talk to Ezekial again and he will tell you that you have to go open the metal door. Go through the door and you will have to sneak past some villagers. It is safest to crouch behind the carts one at a time while all the villagers have their backs to you. You need to click on the cart to crouch behind it. When you get to the other end, prospect the walls, mine the one with a crack, then go through.

  14. Once through, run along the track until you reach a lever. Pull the lever then run back down the track to the wooden door near the place you entered, then go through it.

  15. Talk to Ezekial again and he will tell you to mine some Rubium and place it in the steam vents. There are four vents total that need to be heated with the Rubium. When all have been lit with Rubium the villagers will collapse and you can run through to the next room. Remember to crouch behind carts to avoid being caught. Once they collapse, go through the door.

  16. Proceed through the next door and do the same thing with the Rubium and the vents, the go through the door.

  17. Talk to the couple mining in the middle of the room and they will ask you to go back to Witchaven to check on Kimberly. On your way back you will find Kennith. Talk to him and he will go berserk because Kimberly lost his train. Kennith will attack Kimberly and suspends her in mid air. Talk to Kimberly and ask her to remember where she lost it. She says it is near the water on the south side ot Witchhaven. Head back to Witchhaven and find the the toy train. Once you have it, return to caves and the first room with Kennith and Kimberly. Speak to Kimberly and she begs you to give the train back to Kennith.

    NOTE: Instead of walking all the way back through the mines to find Kennith you can just log in and out, and head to the first cave with Kennith in it.

  18. Give the train to Kennith and he will release Kimberly.
