Introduction

When the barbarians north of Falador moved their mining operations to the centre of the village they came upon the entrance to a vast dungeon. This has become known as the Stronghold of Security. Its various levels begin quite simply, but become much harder as you descend. It will take an adventurer of great power to truly conquer the Stronghold of Security.

The Stronghold is not just another dungeon. Within its depths you will be required to answer questions about the security of your account (passwords, PINs, recovery questions and the like). These are all questions that you should know the answers to, but if you're not sure you can brush up by reading the Runescape Customer Support section of the Knowledge Base.

The Minigame

To get to the game, head over to the Barbarian Village and go down the ladder.

Once you're down the ladder, you will notice a dead explorer. This is the brother of the barbarian waiting at the top of the ladder. Search him to find his diary, "Stronghold notes".

Now, if you are of sufficient experience, you can take the portal to bypass the level and go directly to the Gift of Peace. If you are not, then start opening Gates of War and answering their questions.

Once you reach the Gift of Peace, open it to get 2k gp and a new emote.

To continue, climb down the ladder to the next level.

Again, if you are of sufficient experience, you can use the portal to reach the Grain of Plenty. Otherwise, start going through Rickety Doors, answering questions as you go, until you reach it.

Once you reach the Grain of Plenty, open it to get 3k gp and a new emote.

To continue, climb down the ladder to the next level.

Use the portal to reach the Box of Health if you can. Otherwise, start going through Oozing Barriers, answering questions as you go, until you reach it.

Once you reach the Box of Health, open it to get 5k gp and a new emote.

To continue, climb down the Dripping vine to the next level.

For the final level, use the portal if you can to reach the Cradle of Life. If you can't, start going through Portals of Death, answering questions as you go, until you reach it.

Once you reach the Cradle of Life, open it to get either Fighting boots or Fancy boots and a new emote.

To leave, climb up the Bone chain.

The Rewards

You will get 10k gp for finishing all 4 rooms.

You will get to choose either a pair of Fighting Boots or Fancy Boots for completing the last room. (Both of the boots have the same stats, they just look different.) You must have account recovery questions set in order to get the boots.
