DescriptionThis is the second quest in the Vault of Night series. It is initiated by speaking with Shen Kulle, followed by Mistress Orphne in Mistress Orphne's Haven in House Kundarak (way up north).

This quest is tricky because if anyone in the group falls off the ledge at any time, the mission is failed. This means you must be very careful at all times. There are wind traps placed in various locations that will attempt to shove you off the edge. Your goal is to collect the four items which Mistress Orphne needs to unlock her mind.

In the first series of wind traps, you can use the pillars to block the wind. Go one trap at a time and take your time. Don't take any chances on death here.

Immediately after this on the left is a resurrection shrine and a Beholder. There is only a resurrection shrine and not a rest shrine here.

After the beholder you must run and leap towards the ladders. Once again, no falling is allowed. Two of the four items that Mistress Orphne requires are up here.

Following that you come to another set of wind traps that will attempt to blow you off. There are no pillars this time, but you will notice some Xs on the bridge. Stop at each X and wait for the wind to pass you before moving on.

On the other side you will need to drop off. Feather fall helps a lot here, but you can also leap if need be. The leap down is dangerous though, as it can push you off the edge if you are not careful.

Beyond this is a maze that is full of traps. A rogue is nearly essential at this point. Scattered throughout this maze are a couple of chests, a couple of resource nodes, and some Minotaurs and Thaarak Hounds.

Past the maze is Instolgoldt, a level 13 fire giant. He guards the third possession of Orphne. You must speak to him before killing him.

After obtaining all of Orphne's items you must feather fall back down to her and do the hand in. She will attack you. Kill her to finish the quest.
