Bullroarer Took Day Screenshot Contest

Come celebrate Bullroarer Took day with us! On March 17th we’ll begin accepting screen shots from all over Middle-earth honouring the mighty Bullroarer Took!

For those who don’t know their Shire History, Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took led the Hobbits at the Battle of Greenfields when Orcs from Mount Gram, led by their Chieftain, Golfimbul, invaded the Northfarthing. During the battle, Bandobras defeated Golfimbul with a mightly blow that knocked off his head. Golfimbul's head flew through the air for 100 yards and dropped down a rabbit hole. Thus, according to Shire legend, inventing the game of Golf!

You can gain your own measure of fame by participating in our Bullroarer Took Day Screenshot Contest. We’ll select a winner from each (two winners if we have qualifying solo and group entries in a category) and post them to our Bullroarer Took Day Screenshot Gallery on LOTRO.com. We’ll include your name as well as the names of the participants, their server, and their Kinship if appropriate.

Screenshot Categories
We’ve broken the categories into two parts; individual and group. For any of the solo categories we’ll also accept a group photo, but for the group shots you’ll have to pull together some friends – it’s a party after all! Enter as many categories as you like.

Solo or Group shots
  • Best toast
  • Wearin’ the green.
  • Best picture taken beneath Bullroarer Took’s statue
Group Shots
  • Best party band - 3 or more people using the music system
  • Best party – 5 or more players in any housing area, city, or tavern/inn
  • Most dangerous party location – 5 or more people in the most dangerous party location you can find.

The Bullroarer Took Day Screenshot contest runs from March 17th to March 22nd. Entries must be received by Turbine by 11:59PM Eastern on Monday March 22, 2010.

Tips for Taking Screenshots
  • The number pad or right mouse button can be used to adjust the camera angle
  • CTRL-P/Print Screen takes your screenshot
  • Screenshots are stored in My Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online
  • F12 will remove the UI, and N will remove floaty names

RULES:
To enter the Bullroarer Took Day Screenshot Contest, send your entry to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the subject line LOTRO Bullroarer Took Screenshot Contest.
  • All entries must be sent as email attachments in .jpg format. Filenames should include the entrant’s LOTRO forums name for identification.
  • If you are entering multiple categories or screenshots per category, each Screenshot must be submitted as a separate email.
  • All entries must include the player's name, e-mail address, primary player and/or forum name (if any), names of characters in the screenshot, and desired name(s) and Kinship to credit along with the player's server name.
  • All entries must be original and created and/or owned exclusively by the player submitting the screenshot.
  • The contest is open to registered players with an active account and current subscription. The contest begins on March 17th, 2010. Entries must be received by Turbine by 11:59PM Eastern on Monday March 22, 2010.
  • Turbine will announce the winners during the week of March 22, 2010.
  • All decisions will be made by Turbine, Inc. in its sole discretion and are final. Players who submit a winning entry may be required to execute an Assignment and Release. Failure to execute and return the Assignment and Release within the time frame specified may result in another entry being selected as winner.
