Lineage II : The Chaotic Throne April Fool's Day 2010

That mysterious time of year has come about again once again, when chance and surprises affect the people of Aden strangely. This year, Lady Yndrina, the Goddess of games and riddles, teases our patience by slowly revealing a prophetic tale of trickery and illusions...

Hespar and Esphrus

In the heavens above the world of Aden, the great Letadon, God of merriment and earthly pleasures was recently web to Fetena, the Goddess of magic and spirits. But Letadon, being a god of pleasure, could not stay loyal to his wife, and pursued any and all attractive companions. One such beautiful woman was Kaeras, the Goddess of purity, whom Letadon seduced and made pregnant. Unforunately, Fetana was a jealous woman, and when she discovered that he had impregnated another women, her anger against Kaeras was greater than that against any of his previous consorts. She cursed Kaeras' pregnancy with a dark, evil magic. The moment that Kaeras' child was born, the skies darkened in an unexpected solar eclipse. Day and night mingled, and in the twilight, Fetana's evil curse manifested...

After Hespar, the God of truth and goodness was born, a second child tore his way through the eclipse's darkness and into the living world of light. This was Esphrus, the god of illusions and mischief. Born readily wise and capable of intuitive thought, the twins immediately understood the paradoxical nature of their relationship. Esphrus relished in this evil duplicity and vanished into the shadow that Hespar cast on the ground. From that moment on, every good deed that Hespar performed in the world of Aden was echoed with a reciprocally evil deed by Esphrus. The good nature of Hespar was constantly challenged by the actions of his evil brother, forever following him in his shadow. When Hespar guided humans to truth and honesty, Esphrus would whisper doubts and lies into their minds. When Esphrus would infest greed and robbery into the economy, Hespar would crush his evil by bringing justice and fairness. Alas, the circular nature of their actions would have gone on forever, had it not been for a certain catalyst, a certain human sacrifice...

The peoples of the world of Aden had been subjected to the consequences of the twins' endless actions. Their farms suffered from sudden changes in weather, prepared a human sacrifice
