Forochel: Zigilgund Quest Guide

While certainly a harsh and forbidding land, the dwarves of Zigilgund find comfort in the wealth and accomplishment in opening the nearby Icereave Mines in Forochel. However, recently the foul Dourhand dwarf clan has taken the mines, and the friendly dwarves of Zigilgund are in need of brave warriors of the Free People to evict their unwelcome cousins. Aside from the problem with Icereave Mines the dwarves of Thorin's Hall have, there are many other issues to concern them. The Guaradain are found in the area outlying Zigilgund, the nearby hot springs are overrun by Ice-wyrms, and wild animals encroach upon the surrounding hills. Along with these many quests, make sure to help the burglar Warstang, of the Lost Fellowship deed, in order to get his class specialty item, leather overshoes. It is nice to be able to sneak, no matter what your class. However, all the treasures given for the quests here are worth it, especially if you manage to defeat the leader of the Dourhands, Arnmoth.

Find Warstang's lost marbles in the bellies of the beasts who ate them and return them to him at the dwarf-outpost of Zigilgund. 47 Warstang Who Burgles the Burglar Zigilgund 9.3N, 81.1W Warstang, the Eglan-burglar staying with the dwarves at Zigilgund, has had his belt-pouch burgled from him Reclaim Warstang's Pouch from a Guaradan Thief The Gauredain Thieves can be found south-east of Zigilgund. Warstang has asked you to recover his stolen belt-pouch from the Gauredain. (Author's note: while directions are a bit unclear on which thief will have the pouch, I found mine after several tries at 8.0N, 81.0W.) 23S, 80C and Thick Leather Overshoes (Consumable)
47 Sigrik Where Norsu Die Zigilgund 9.3N, 81.1W Sigrík lost his spear while hunting mammoths. Find the Mammoth That was Speared By Sigrik The mammoth should be found somewhere south of Zigilgund. Sigrík has asked you to find his missing spear, which should be stuck in the corpse of a mammoth. He asked you to collect one of its tusks as well. (Author's note: The mammoth is found at 7.9N, 81.0W, watched by 3 bears.)  23S, 80C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall
47 Sigrik Mika Might Know (Requires: Where Norsu Die) Zigilgund 9.3N, 81.1W Sigrík has let you borrow the tusk you found for him, with the mysterious markings on it. He suggested that a Lossoth näkijä's apprentice by the name of Mika, who lives in Norsu-hauta, might know what to make of them. Talk to Mika Mika is at Norsu-hauta, south of Zigilgund. Sigrík has asked you to speak with the young näkijä Mika about the markings on the mammoth tusk you collected for him. 47 Mika Keeping the Norsu Pure (Requires Mika Might Know) Lansi-Ma, 7.5N, 80.5W Mika recognizes the markings on the tusk as Angmarim sorcery in a Gauradan hand. He wishes you to find and defeat the Gauradan Seer who dares try and twist one of the Lossoth's mammoths. Defeat a Guaradan Seer who is trying to ensorcel a mammoth. Search around Norsu-hauta for the Gauradan Seer who is trying to ensorcel a Mammoth. (Author's note: This is located at 8.2N, 81.6W.) 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with the Lossoth of Forochel
47 Mika Angmarim Sorcery (Requires Keeping the Norsu Pure) Lansi-Ma, 7.5N, 80.5W Mika wants you to defeat the Angmarim Sorcerer who is attempting to train the Gauredain to corrupt Mammoths.. Defeat The Angmarim Sorcerer Search near Norsu-leiri for the Angmarim Sorcerer who is teaching the Gauradan the vile rites to ensorcel Mammoths. 47 Mika Undisturbed Rest Lansi-Ma, 7.5N, 80.5W The great white bears of Länsi-mâ often scavenge among the remains of mammoths, which can drive the herds away. Defeat Tundra Bears in Lansi-ma (20) Tundra bears can be found throughout Länsi-mâ. Mika has asked you to drive off a number of tundra bears. 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with the Lossoth of Forochel
47 Thorth Scattered in The Graveyard Zigilgund 9.4N, 81.1W On its way to the dwarven outpost of Zigilgund, a convoy bearing vital supplies, especially mining picks, was attacked, and its contents scattered. Collect Dwarf Picks (10) Collect the Dwarf-picks that were scattered when the supply convoy bound for Zigilgund was attacked. Thórth said they would likely be in and around the nearby mammoth graveyard. (Author's note: These are found at;

50 Thorth A Key to Their Greed Zigilgund 9.4N, 81.1W Thórth suspects that whoever is leading the Dourhands at the Icereave Mines is hiding in a locked area within the mines. Take a key from a Dourhand within the ancient Icereave mines. The Icereave Mines lie to the southwest of Zigilgund. Thórth has asked you to drive the Dourhands from the Icereave Mines. (Author's note: The Bent Key is found inside, up the stair to the right, near a spawn of 3 level 50 dourhands.)  24S, 85C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall
50 Thorth Arnmoth the Exacting (requires A Key to Their Greed) Zigilgund 9.4N, 81.1W Thórth has fixed the broken key, and wants you to gather allies and find and defeat Arnmóth the Exacting within the Icereave Mines. Defeat Arnmoth the Exacting Find the inner office within the Icereave Mines. Bring allies. (Author's Note: This is simply at the back of the mine. 47 Riki Feeding The Need Zigilgund 9.4N, 81.2W Ríki is worried about low supplies for his hungry miners. Collect Elk Haunches (20) Elk can be found throughout Länsi-mâ. Ríki has asked you to help restock Zigilgund's stores with Elk-meat. 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall
47 Weth Not In Hot Water Zigilgund 9.4N, 81.2W Great Winter-worms have been interrupting dwarven efforts to get hot water from nearby springs. Weth is most annoyed. Defeat the Great Winter-Worms (3) (Authors note:

You must kill Great Winter-worms at the three different channels. 4th, 7th and 10th.

10th channel is at 10.4N, 82.5W;

47 Weth The Root of the Problem (requires Not In Hot Water) Zigilgund 9.4N, 81.2W The root of the problem with the great winter-worms which have been attacking the dwarf-canals seems to lie with a particularly vicious worm dubbed Ringdagnir. Defeat Ringdagnir Ringdagnir can be found on the west side of the hot springs near Zigilgund. Weth has asked you to defeat the great winter-worm Ringdagnir. (Author's note: Ringdagnir is found at 10.5N, 82.7W, well away from Zigilgund.) 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall and Glacier Surprise (Food) and Chillbane's Curse (Staff) or Chillbane's Woe (Bow)
47 Keli Beastly Things Zigilgund, 9.4N, 81.2W Peikko have long terrorized the snowdrifts of Länsi-mâ. The time has come to deal with them. Defeat Peikko in Lansi-Ma (24) peikko can be found east and up the mountainside from Zigilgund, in a cave. Keli has asked you to defeat a number of peikko. (Author's note: The cave is located at 9.5N, 79.9W) 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall
47 Keli Mother of Beasts (requires Beastly Things) Zigilgund, 9.4N, 81.2W Keli has figured out why the snow-beasts have been so aggressive recently and wants you to kill their matron. Defeat the Great Snow-Matron The Great Snow-matron can be found in the cave east and up the hill from Zigilgund. Keli has asked you to rid Forochel of the Great Snow-matron who has been stirring up the peikko. (Author's note: The cave is located at 9.5N, 79.9W. Inside, keep to the right wall and you will get to her.) 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall and Keli's Bauble (Earring) or Keli's Charm (Earring)
47 Fotri A City in the Ice Zigilgund, 9.4N, 81.2W Fotri has agreed to give you directions to the famed Lossoth capital, Sûri-kylä. Speak to Lothrandir in Suri-Kyla. Make your way far to the east and north to Sûri-kylä, the City in the Ice. (Author's note: Lothrandir is located pretty much on the opposite side of the bay at the city of Suri-kyla, at 19.0N, 70.8W. Reach there by heading NE from Pynti-Peldot, following the road.) 23S, 80C and Increased Standing with Thorin's Hall
