Guide to Pynti-Peldot

Pynti-Peldot is a main Lossoth settlement, found right in the middle of Forochel. With tasks that are around level 45 for players to complete, it is a great place to get a level or two in your 40's quickly. Most of the quests here happen to the west of Pynti-Peldot, in areas such as Leijona-kotin, a gorge haunted by sabre-tooth tigers. Like other areas in Forochel, to continue from here to higher level areas in Forochel, you will need to impress the chieftain here, named Ora. Make sure to do her quests before leaving Pynti-Peldot, then head west to the dwarven settlement of Zigilgund. Note that some quests list the "Grudgingly Earned" quest as a requirement. In this case, it can mean it requires you have that quest, or it can mean it requires you have completed that quest. One thing to note about this area.. your on the edge of the bay of ice to the north. Make sure you don't fall into this water. The water will freeze you to death in short order. Furthermore, you can be made vulnerable to cold by creatures in Forochel, increasing the damage you take from their attacks. You can use fires (such as campfires in Pynti-Peldot, or those made by a hunter) to warm up and remove the cold vulnerability. If it is really important to you, you can go to the hot springs south of Zigilgund (inhabited by deadly lizards) and gain a hour long immunization to cold, to gird you against encounters here. The champion and minstrel of the Lost Fellowship deed are found in Pynti-Peldot (or at the hunting camp, found halfway or so to Zigilgund to the west of Pynti-Pelto, at 7.5N, 75.4W.) Find Deornyd a New Sword From a Guaradan Gauredain roam to the north and west of Pynti-peldot, near the Lonesome Stones. Déornyd has asked you to replace his broken sword with one stolen from one of the Gauredain. (Author's note: Any Guaradan near 2.1N, 71.7W is fine, but the drop rate can be low, so it might take a bit to do this successfully.) 23S, 80C and Battered Horn
45 Grudgingly Earned Ora Pynti-Peldot 11.4N, 69.5W The Lossoth's distrust of you stands in the way of further exploration of Forochel. Impressing Ora, one of the Lossoth-chieftains, may be the only way to continue your efforts in Forochel. Earn the trust of Kaj Earn the trust of Niko Earth the trust of Lauri Ora's son Kaj may be found near her, at the main lodge. Ora's best scout, Lauri, is near the southern gate of Pynti-peldot. Ora's Master of the Hunt, Niko, may be found at his camp, south-west along the road. Ora told you that you must gain her trust by helping other Lossoth of her tribe. She suggested you start with her son Kaj, the scout Lauri, and Niko, her Master of the Hunt. (Author's note: all but Niko are in camp. 46 Dwarves and Mammoths (requires Grudgingly Earned) Ora Pynti-Peldot 11.4N, 69.5W You have earned the respect of the Lossoth-chieftain Ora, who will now further guide your exploration of Forochel. Talk to Thorth Zigilgund is far along the road to the west of Pynti-peldot. Ora suggested that you speak with a dwarf there by the name of Thórth. 23S, 45C and Ora's Braid or Ora's Band or Ora's Ring
45 A Respectable Ritual (requires Grudgingly Earned) Kaj Pynti-Peldot 11.4N, 69.4W Kaj, the son of the Lossoth-chieftain Ora, seeks to perform an ancient and time-honoured ritual. Collect a coil of rope Collect thick furs (4) Borrow a sledge from Altti. The rope is at a scout's encampment to the south, the sledge needs to be borrowed from Altti the trapper at Jänis-leiri (the Master of the Hunt's encampment by the road to the west) and thick furs can be skinned from any number of beasts in and around Itä-mâ. Kaj has asked for your help obtaining certain items he needs to prepare for his ritual. (Author's note: Alti is at 7.4N, 75.4W. 46 The Ties That Bind (requires A Respectable Ritual) Kaj Pynti-Peldot 11.4N, 69.4W Kaj is now prepared to embark upon the Lossoth-ritual he has vowed to complete. 1. Talk to Kaj Kaj is in Pynti-peldot. You should speak with Kaj when you are ready to assist him with his ritual. 2. Prevent Pinja's Brothers from Interrupting Kaj. Pinja has three brothers. Make sure they do not interrupt Kaj in his performance of the ritual for which you helped him prepare. (Author's note: this is an instance. First two brothers, then a separate third brother [who is tougher] try to prevent Kaj wooing their sister.) 23S, 45C and Increase Standing with the Lossoth of Forochel
46 A Midwinter's Thaw (requires The Ties That Bind) Pinja Ita-Ma 8.8N, 73.3W You have played an important part in the courtship of Kaj and Pinja. Collect White Furs (10) Pick Snow-Blooms (10) Deliver the invitation to Ella at Pynti-Peldot Snowdrops and white furs can be collected at Leijona-kotin, south of Pinja's homestead. Ella is at Pynti-peldot. Pinja has asked that you gather the winter-blooming snowdrops and white furs for her marriage dress, and that you hand-deliver an important invitation to Ella in Pynti-peldot. (Author's note: Leijona-Kotin is at 7.4N, 73.3W. 45 Smoke on the Horizon (requires Grudgingly Earned) Lauri Pynti-Peldot 11.3N, 69.5W Lauri reported that one of his scouts, Ida, has been missing for some time and that there has been smoke recently seen in the sky near one of the Lossoth homesteads, west of Pynti-peldot. Check on Ida at the supply-encampment Ida's supply-encampment is to the south, next to the road and near the entrance to the ice canyons. Lauri has asked you to investigate Ida's supply-encampment and make sure she is not hurt. (Author's note: Ida is at 10.0N, 69.6W.) 23S, 10C and Increase Standing with the Lossoth of Forochel
46 Reclamation (requires Smoke on the Horizon) Ida Pynti-Peldot 10.0N, 69.6W Ida told you that a nearby homestead is being terrorized by Fëoc, a Gauradan. Defeat Feoc Fëoc is at Voi-teltta, west of Ida's camp along the road. Ida has charged you with defeating the Gauradan Fëoc, who has claimed Voi-teltta for himself and driven out the Lossoth scouts. (Author's note: Feoc is a 46 elite, at 10.1N, 71.9W, but is not hard. 46 Ice at The Water's Edge Kimmi Pynti-Peldot 11.5N, 69.9W Kimmo the artist wishes to make an offering to the water-spirits on behalf of the people of Pynti-peldot. Place the Ice-statuette at the Shrine of Water Spirit The Lossoth shrine lies along the shore of the Ice Bay, to the west and north of Pynti-peldot, past and downhill from the dwarf-make ruins known as the Lonesome Stones. Kimmo has asked you to find the Lossoth shrine to the water spirit and place the statuette on the pedestal there before it melts. (Author's note: This is a timed quest, bring the statuette to 14.5N, 76.1W. This is reached by leaving the village heading north to 12.1N, 71.7W, then following shore west to the other side of the lonesome stones, at 13.9N, 74.5W, the following the shore. 46 Cat-Tusk Scrimshaw (Requires Ice at The Water's Edge) Kimmi Pynti-Peldot 11.5N, 69.9W Pynti-peldot is the primary source of sabre-tooth-ivory scrimshaw in Forochel. The Lossoth carve the large tusks during the long winter nights, and sell them to south-landers. Collect Sabre-teeth (20) sabre-tooth(s) can be found in and around their den at Leijona-kotin, as well as roaming the rest of Itä-ma. Kimmo has asked you to bring him some tusks from the sabre-tooth cats which roam Forochel. 23S, 45C and Increase Standing with the Lossoth of Forochel and Scrimshaws Fate (Necklace)
46 Guaradan Incursions Heikki Pynti-Peldot 11.7N, 69.8W Heikki told you that the Gauredain placed many wards at the northern entrance of the ice-canyons that lead south to Taur Orthon. Destroy Guaradan Fetishes (10) Gauradan-fetishes can be found around and within the entrance of the Jä-kuru, south of Pynti-peldot. 44 Another Thin Winter (requires Silent Feet) Niko Pynti-Peldot 7.5N, 75.4W Your success in destroying the traps of the Gauredain without frightening away the aurochs-herds has impressed Niko, the Master of the Hunt. Collect Meat (10) Collect Antlers (10) Moose roam all over Itä-ma, near and far from Jänis-leiri. 46 The Longest Fangs (requires Another Thin Winter) Niko Pynti-Peldot 7.5N, 75.4W Niko has challenged you with hunting the sabre-toothed cats that haunt Leijona-kotin, a wooded area east of Jänis-leiri. Defeat Sabre-tooths (12) Defeat Pitka-Hammas Sabre-tooths can be found at Leijona-kotin, east of Jänis-leiri. Niko wants you to cull the numbers of sabre-tooths in the area and especially to defeat a vicious cat named Pitkä-hammas. (Author's note: head to 6.2N, 73.6W to enter Leijona-kotin. There are multiple entrances, this is the best. Keep to the right and it leads you more or less directly to Pitka-hammas. Pitka-Hammas is found at 6.4N, 73.0W) 23S, 45C and Increase Standing with the Lossoth of Forochel and Niko's Bow or Niko's Crossbow or Niko's Spear
47 Three Sheets to the Wind Burgthryth Pynti-Peldot 7.5N, 75.4W After becoming separated from the rest of her fellowship by a storm, Burgthryth was pursued through the wilderness by a variety of hostile beasts. During the course of her flight, she lost some of her most prized sheets of music and despairs of ever finding them again. Find Burgthryth's first sheet 1. Burgthryth believes the first of her sheets was swiped from her pack by a Tundra Bear. You will have to hunt them down until you find the one that stole it -- assuming it has not already been devoured. Tundra Bears can be found in Länsi-mâ. 2. Burgthryth told you that the second of her anthem sheets might have been grabbed by a curious peikko during her performance. You will have to hunt down the peikko that stole it. Peikko may be found in Länsi-mâ. 3. Burgthryth thinks she probably dropped the third sheet of her anthem when she was being pursued by Gauradan-hunters. You will have to hunt down the Gauredain and retrieve that sheet before they use it as a hankerchief -- or worse. Gauredain can be found in Länsi-mâ. (Author's note: Bears are found to the SW of Pynti-Peldot. Head west along the road to find Peikko's of Lansi-Ma in a cave across from the dwarven city of Zigilgund at 9.5N, 80.0W. Peikko's are 47 mobs so be cautious if your in the 45 level range. This is a random drop, so don't be concerned with getting too far into the cave.. any kill will have a chance of dropping it. Note that Guaredan thief can have the sheet music, not just hunters.)  23S, 80C
47 All Strung Out (requires Three Sheets to the Wind) Burgthryth Pynti-Peldot 7.5N, 75.4W Burgthryth is distraught over the destruction of her finest lute strings by a particularly vicious and tone-deaf sabre-tooth. Defeat Laulu-Vihaja and collect his guts. Burgthryth has asked you to retrieve the guts of the sabre-tooth, Laulu-vihâja, from which she will make new strings for her lute. Laulu-vihâja is on Kissa-sari, South-west from Jänis-leiri. (Author's note: First head to 5.7N, 78.4W and cross to the island. Laulu-Vihaja is found at 5.9N, 79.5W, a 46 signature with about 3800 morale.) 24S, 15C and Basic Theatre: Lesson 13
