Gramdrim and I have cleared twisted woods of Glad Ereg and now turn south toward Hollin. With the wood trolls decimated by myself and my short-but-worthy companion's efforts, it will be a long time before they threaten my kinsman in fair Gwingris. We have many dangers ahead, however. We continue in our aim to protect those who even now head further into danger much greater than I or Gramdrim face.

Here in High Hollin, we seek another group of elves from Rivendell, housed in another ruin of the folk who onced lived here, the ruin known as Echad Eregion. A rider to Gwingris told us of half orcs in nearby ruins of Pembar and Barad Morlas. Even if the presence of these folk did not pose a greater danger to the travellers who I will not name, I would see the the end of the foul melding of Yrch and Adan from these quiet lands.

I note a change in Gramdrim as we head closer to the mountains. The red peaks of these "teeth" of the Misty Mountains hold no appeal for me, but I fear that Gramdrim is thinking less of those peaks, and more of the questionable glories of the ancient dwarf halls beneath. I worry what the gleam in his eye I notice bodes for our travels. Echad Eregion is found in the heart of Eregion, in the land known as High Hollin. Ruins nearby are full of the half orcs of Saruman, and wild beasts are in the lands about. Tasked with covering the tracks of the fellowship of the nine who head south on their task, members of the free people can find many things to do in this land at risk from Saruman's White Hand. The quests here are mainly soloable, but there are several signature enemies that must be defeated in some of them, so make sure you have stocked up on food, drink and healing potions. Keep an eye out of the half orcs you need for Deeds of Eregion, and the elven lore found here. A few of the quests here are part of completing the half orc captain deed, so make sure to pay attention to those.

49 Lengliel Spoiling the Spoils (Requires Pembar's Unwelcome Visitors) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W While thinning the ranks of Saruman's half-orcs at Pembar, you discovered a great many more worm-eggs than the Elves had been aware of. This has become a cause of great concern for Lengliel. (12) Defeat Worm Eggs Defeat Fotkurz, Worm-Master Worm-eggs can be found in nests throughout the ruins of Pembar, north-east of Echad Eregion. This foul task was most onerous. For one thing, every half of a moment I would stumble upon one of Saruman's slaves, and the second problem was finding all the eggs.

49 Lengliel Moving Unseen Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W The Elves in Eregion use lynx-pelts to craft their cloaks. 49 Faenhilith The Ruins of Pembar Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W The ruins of Pembar have become a haven of half-orcs in the service of Saruman the White, who has fallen to evil. What they seek within the ancient Elf-ruins remains a mystery. (8) Search Rubble There are many rubble piles in Pembar, north-east of Echad Eregion. Faenhilith has asked you to search the rubble piles at Pembar to see if you can learn what interest the minions of Saruman have there. (Author's Note: Pembar is at 44.3S, 10.7W.

49 Faenhilith Pembar's Relic (Requires The Ruins of Pembar) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W Your examination of the rubble at Pembar yielded some relic-fragments, which concern Faenhilith greatly. (4) Collect Elf Relics (6) Collect Elf Trinkets Elf-relics and Elf-trinkets are being held by the half-orcs who are encamped at Pembar, north-east of Echad Eregion. Faenhilith has asked you to go to Pembar and defeat the half-orcs there, bringing her any relics or trinkets you find in their possession.
Though it is long, long since the elves of Hollin crossed west to escape the shadow, it pains me to see these uncouth thugs rooting among the remains of this place.

49 Faenhilith An Unseen Hand (Requires Pembar's Relics) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W You recovered many relics and trinkets from the half-orcs at Pembar, but Faenhilith is wary still. Blow Summoning Horn and Defeat the Leader of the Half Orcs The summoning horn is inside the southern entrance to the ruins of Pembar, north-east of Echad Eregion. Faenhilith has asked you to return to Pembar and use the Orkish summoning horn to challenge the leader of the half-orcs. (The summoning horn is in Pembar at 44.1S, 10.7W. Make sure to clean out the patrollers before using it. The leader is a signature 51 named Fauldush. 49 Ladenthir Honoring the Fallen (Requires An Unseen Hand) Echad Eregion, 46.9S, 12.5W After Sauron swept through Eregion of old, the Elves of Rivendell returned and placed statues at places where their brave kinsmen fell in battle. Defeat Shatogar (8) Collect Statues There are memorial statues spread all throughout Barad Morlas, south-west of Echad Eregion. Ladenthir has asked you to preserve the memory of the Elves of Eregion by collecting the memorial statues placed in Barad Morlas by the Elves of Rivendell before the half-orcs can despoil them. Shatogar was found in a court that belonged to some princeling long ago by myself. It took time to dispatch his guards discreetly, but his foul taint is no longer on this Middle Earth. Good Riddance.

49 Ladenthir Treasures from Barad Moras (Requires Honoring the Fallen) Echad Eregion, 46.9S, 12.5W You recovered several of the memorial statues left in Barad Morlas by the Elves of Rivendell, but many more treasures remain lost there...or had until the half-orcs came. (15) Collect Relics Half-orcs can be found in Barad Morlas, south-west of Echad Eregion. Ladenthir is at Echad Eregion, north-east of Barad Morlas. Ladenthir believes that the half-orcs have uncovered many Elf-relics at Barad Morlas and asks that you defeat them and recover the relics. 24S, 50C
49 Ladenthir Reach of the White Hand (Requires Invader's Banners) Echad Eregion, 46.9S, 12.5W Ladenthir does not know how far the reach of Saruman has gone, but his touch has been felt in Eregion. Talk to Palanaer at Echad Dunnan Palanaer is at Echad Dúnann, east of Echad Eregion. Barad Morlas in the south also has become a stronghold of Saruman's minions. (5) Defeat Half Orc Wolf Keepers at Barad Morlas Half-orcs can be found at Barad Morlas, south-west of Echad Eregion. 50 Dorhador The Wolves' Master (Requires The Half-Orcs' Beasts) Echad Eregion, 46.9S, 12.5W You defeated many wolf-keepers at Barad Morlas, but Dornhador still has one more task for you. Defeat Nukhud Wolf-Master Nûkhud, Wolf-master is at Barad Morlas, south-west of Echad Eregion. Dornhador has asked you to find and defeat Nûkhud, Wolf-master, the leader of the wolf-keepers at Barad Morlas. (Author's Note: Nukhud is found at 48.0S, 14.4W, a signature, with a pet.)
Of all the furry critters found in the region, I have to say I despise wolves the most. Able to summon friends, tenacious, and just dangerous to force me to stop and give them my axe's ministrations!

49 Golgallon Wolf Bounty (Requires An Unseen Hand) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W As the forces of Saruman and Mordor scour the land of Hollin for the Ringbearer, evil creatures creep into Eregion. (16) Defeat Wolves Wolves can be found throughout Eregion. Golgallon has asked that you search out and destroy the wolves that plague Eregion. 24S, 50C
49 Faenhilith A Threat To Pembar (Requires Pembar's Unwelcome Visitors) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W While the worms of Pembar are likely led by a matron, there can be no offspring without a sire. Defeat Nethgarch, Worm-Sire Pembar is north-east of Echad Eregion and south-east of Glâd Ereg. Faenhilith has asked you to travel to Pembar and slay the worm-sire Nethgarch. 49 Golgallon Following the Path (requires Things Left Behind) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W Maedlathron sent you to the Elf-camp of Echad Eregion to warn Golgallon of the misfortunate signs of the Company's passing...only Golgallon was already aware of the signs. Search the campsite for signs of the companies passing The campsite lies east and north of Echad Eregion, beyond Torech Bornagol and Torech Carangor. Golgallon has asked you to search another campsite for signs of the Company's passing. (Author's Note: The Campsite is at 45.9S, 8.7W.) 24S, 50C
49 Golgallon The Thieves Trail (Requires Following the Path ) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W You discovered that half-orcs had ransacked the vestiges of a campsite, taking something away with them. Find half-orcs bearing the item from the companies camp site. The half-orcs were seen to the east and a little south of Echad Eregion, almost due south of the Company's campsite. Golgallon told you to hunt down the half-orcs and recover whatever they took from the campsite. (Author's Note: At 48.0S, 8.7W you meet the half orc Thluk. He laughs maniacally and says the item from the campsite is gone, and then fights you. He is a 50 Elite.)  24S, 85C and Golgallon's Armor (Medium Torso) or Tracker's Leggings (Light Legs)
50 Golgallon Chasing Trouble (Requires The Thieves Trail ) Echad Eregion, 47.0S, 12.5W You caught up with one of the half-orcs who ransacked the Company's campsite, but the other had already continued southwards with their stolen prize. Retrieve what was taken from the companies campsite Quickly find the thief The remaining half-orc might be found along the northern banks of the dry Sirannon river-bed, south-east of Echad Eregion. Golgallon suggests that there is a chance to stop the remaining half-orc when he stops to rest his horse. (Author's Note: This is a timed quest. head south directly from Echad Eregion until you come to 52.0S then head west along the river bed until you run into the Half Orc 51 signature with a horse at 52.0S, 9.7W)
That was a tough fight. While I would do anything to keep my kinsman and the little folk free of pursuit, I nearly paid a dear price indeed to keep this cur from bringing word to the enemy to the south.
